The first one looks good. The demin one looks very different & strange, but let me think for some days, before roaming around wearing that.

At the end of the line, I and many other bikers just need ultimate crash protection, weather protection and wind noise comfort (in this order too, probably).
I remember getting a MTV Steelbird branded helmet for around Rs. 2200, a modular one and its bad on the wind noise levels. So much that I could hardly bear it after a long journey. Again, my imported brand new helmet, the KYT RC Seven isn't too good at Wind noise anyways.

Let's hope this NASA cloth actually is not a gimmick. But even if it is not, I wonder what huge difference can it make anyways?

But of course, in a market where we have everything from unbranded to Fastrack helmets, this won't feel out of place (talking about the first helmet, not the Demin one).

What's all this out of space BS, just give us competent helmets which are strong light and with good design and ventilation, we will buy them.

People are selling helmets as lifestyle accessories now. Wonder how that will click with the customers.
But helmets are essential safety tools. Style comes second, but still let's hope this makes indians wear helmets now.

I did some googling and found this, a page related to "NASA's phase change materials (PCM)" which is also called as Outlast Technology.

I don't think this technology as described above can be useful in helmets. When the head gets hot or whatever that means the material in helmet will absorb the heat and when it cools it will release the heat but our rider heads will cool only when we stop riding which is also when we remove the helmets. So going by this argument it can only keep absorbing heat but it cannot do so when it becomes more heated than the head because that will cause reverse emission to our heads!

Reverse emission wont happen. At worse the helmet will stop absorbing heat and transfer atmospheric heat like any normal helmet.

How useful it is depends on how well the fabric absorbs heat. And for how long. 15 mins might not help but 4 hours will be quite a boon even on day long rides as the shell can lose heat during breaks and start work again.

If the fabric absorbs lot of heat then day to day traffic will become little more manageable.

If a this is not entirely marketing gimmick we might have a decent product on our hands. I quite liked the first helmet in the pic.
