Price of the new Yamaha M-Slaz starts from THB 89,500 (or INR 1.66 lakh).

On display at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo, 2015 Yamaha M-Slaz is yet another 150 cc motorcycle from Yamaha. Powered by the same engine which is seen on board the Yamaha R15, the new M-Slaz was officially launched in Thailand today. Though Yamaha M-Slaz is the naked sibling of R15, it is surprisingly priced higher at THB 89,500 (or INR 1.66 lakh).
Featuring a sleek and sporty design, inspired by the MT-07 and MT-09, the new Yamaha naked bike is built on the Delta box chassis, same as R15. Power comes from a single cylinder 149 cc liquid cooled engine that generates peak power of 17 PS at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm. Transmission is taken care by the same 6 speed gearbox, as seen on board the R15.

this has become like the latest fad, just slap on USDs and call it the new performance version.
no matter that the USDs are only good for high weight bikes where the reduction in unsprung mass will make a difference.

The Bike looks great never the less! I was holding out on the R15 expecting a naked version to come out soon. I am a sucker for nakeds!

Most probably they will be showing this bike at the IndianAutoExpo 2016 in February followed by a launch soon after.

Such a beauty, 150cc performance naked!
I don't know why, but it doesn't look like it is coming to India.
Btw i am eagerly waiting for this one and wish they launch it in India too!

Not sure why you would think it wont come here.

The bike was just launched in Indonesia. Indian AutoExpo 2016 is due in February, so just relax

Because MT125 was launched last year in May, never came to India though. Same will be the case with MT15

India has no market for 125cc performance bikes. Let alone MT125, why do you think Duke 125 or Honda MSX125 never came here? Because their higher capacity siblings will take a hit in sales

And when I say 125cc bikes I dont mean commuters like CB Shine, gladiator, discover, Phoenix, Glamour etc...

MT15 is the naked version of R15 akin to how FZ16 is the naked version of Fazer. M125 was developed on R125's platform. We dont have R125 so MT125 would never have showed up in India anyways. So now naked lovers like me who have been holding out on the R15 can get the MT15 (We'll just wait till February before making assumptions on whether its going to come or not)

                        A 10 Litre fuel tank?

No thanks. You can go screw yourself, Yamaha.
