        Dear lord, 24k CL350!!!

Even from the RE numbers it's clear that people still prefer lower end ccs coz the 500cc segment is considerably low, even in KTM it's the 200 that's in the meat of things.

RE's will keep on growing to what level no one knows

CC is still a big barrier in India. More cc = more power (not required for city / don't need that much power /less mileage and also more price).

A 250cc RE at 1 lac might work wonders for RE and take their total sales to 1lakh

'RE could build a cult..it's a widely accepted brand as it can be easy repaired anywhere..more of an Indian bike feel

that -1 could very well be a cancelled order or sorts.

Agree with the words. We can see that in chart of top five sold bikes frequently.

Yamaha should bring in the SR400 , may be tweaked Indian version to satisfy classic fans, 'RE winning streak is an example

Numbers notwithstanding, I've never been too impressed about Yamaha's marketing and eagerness to sell a product(their after sales service is good though). In a metro city like Kolkata, even the factory outlet does not have any R3 to show till date! 'Less is more' - seems to be the attitude of Yamaha. And about pricing - for SZ and anything below, its ok. But above that, prices are 10% more than what the pricing should've been.
Although I highly doubt the sales report as it puts the combined count of R3+FZ1+R1+VMAX as 'Zero', it is high time Yamaha sit up and take notice.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

True. I didn't see any R3 on the roads of Kolkata. Probably people are more interested in Ninja or Duke here.

Can't simply make a statement like that.

A Hypothetical 250 cc RE at 1 lakh might do to the 350/500 cc REs what the Discover 100/110 did to the Discover 125/135.

I agree with you about cc. But, I think RE can sell 1 lac units only if they can produce 1 lac units/ month. They can dispatch enough of 350 itself to dealers but ramping up production is necessary for now, to see where RE's market demand ends...

Coming to the topic, my city's Yamaha dealer also doesn't seem much fired up about selling YZF R3. He has no test ride or even a display unit at all. He says he can get one on booking... About 3.9L on road would be it's price on road.

In my state ( Chhattisgarh) there's only one showroom having R3 which itself is 135 kms far from my city and when i visited them on October 26, they had a bike for display and TD but they were giving TD only to those who they think are potential customers and I did got a TD of 3 kms. Showroom owner was himself available to attend the customers of R3 and now also he himself calls me to know my plans for R3. Price is 3.74 L OTR which i feel is ok w.r.t ninja which is 4.08L OTR here.
