Re: Odd-Even Rule for Two-Wheelers might come up in a week

Let's put enough theories and research/results/studies to cover all possibilities. And someone will say in the near future "I told you people, you didn't listen".

Anyway, the actual impact is not that easy to measure. Of course, there should be reduction in fuel sales and pollution when fewer vehicles are in action. However, weather gods seems to be smirking at us mere mortals.

Odd-even scheme arrested peak pollution level, Delhi Govt submits in High Court - FirstPost
After all the pro statistics :
In response to the arguments raised by advocate Salve, petitioners' counsel Shweta Bharti challenged the veracity of the data and submitted that it is "not in consonance with the recorded data as provided by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC)".

      DPCC site : http://www.dpccairdata.com/dpccairda...play/index.php

During the arguments, she handed over to court a copy of the Real Time Ambient Air Quality Data obtained by the DPCC website at 9:40 am on 8 January, depicting the constant presence of PM 10 and PM 2.5 was shown to be higher even after the implementation of odd-even formula.

And the AAP adds on TV >hello jee, Arvind Kejriwal bol rh hun...........................< are for free?
sorry for butting in to this thread again (blame the beer)
firstly stop posting with such huge fonts. we understand you hate this rule and nothing is going to change your opinion on it and neither do you have any brilliant idea as a solution.

i read a news article which mentioned that the high court (or whatever damned court) said one week was enough or too long for this experiment.
have the courts ever thought (or has anyone ever bothered to ask these courts) why the * does it take AGES to get closure on some cases ? Do the courts have an answer or a solution to that ? When they can't keep their back yard clean (of cases) i wonder with what impunity do these guys dare to give such comments. shameless i say.
Can't believe that a body as (supposedly) respectful and presided by (supposedly) wise well educated men/women even dared to ask such a question !!!?

Everybody seems to want a solution as quick as mcdonalds flips burgers.

a bunch of folks want public transport to be 'improved' first before such rules are implemented
the petrol bunk lobby will oppose this for whatever fancy reason they want
every tom dick n harry has a reason.. and i wont be surprised if most of these are politically motivated. i wonder what the scene would have been if mr.kejriwal had introduced the 'swach bharat' program and the additional taxes collected towards it.

not many seem to understand the concept of experiment and improvise.. gathering data is of utmost importance. that will enable the govt to get a rough idea on how much of an improvement needs to be made to public transport (buses metro etc )

what have the previous govt's done to even get the ball rolling on such issues ?
the public should compromise/sacrifice a bit so that maybe at-least their future generations will be benefited. with such a huge population such things are bound to happen and if such issues have to be minimized (not eradicated), it will take time and as i mentioned earlier.. time means years not weeks !

SC imposes more curbs on commercial vehicles entering Delhi | Business Standard News

7: Lets get things clear. I support Kejriwal's free water decision. I support the no management quota decision. But there is no reason for me to support this rule. Just because I oppose one decision doesnt make me a hater. And me supporting one BJP decision doesnt make me a loyalist either.

8: The court has said the same;- show data extend rule. Again, the court has said, "Is it necessary........." They have asked a question to the lawyer. Its not a statement.

9: Previous government started CNG buses. Previous government started CNG autos. Previous government moved all factories out of Delhi. Just because they dont go about thumping their chests doesnt mean the did nothing.

what makes you think i support any specific political party ?
i am merely saying that this idea is a welcome move , and i never said swach bharat is bad. i see both will have pros n cons, but i am still wondering why the swach bharat campaign is not tossed around like a salad (i haven't seen any benefit or output of that scheme thus far barring the fancy photo's on social media while the ground reality is different) while i see a bunch of folks ready to crack lame jokes on aap decisions.
so far i haven't seen any of you experts give any recommendation or help the cause but only point fingers.. sadly that's the mentality of most of the population.
even with all the cng WHY is there so much pollution ? why did the courts wake up only now to condemn pollution ?(at least someone is making an effort to find a solution!) if the court thinks 1 week's data is enough, then god bless the courts.

i am still trying to find the 'report post' button

Your idea to blame everyone seems to be in line with the political ideology of AAP. So does your way of expressing your "opinions". To answer your question, we are not environmental experts to give suggestions about curbing polution. However, we can express our anguish when something feels bad. The same way you expressed your anguish about the judiciary in your colourful language. Now according to your thought process, you should give some surefire solutions about the courts cleaning their backyards right?? However that would not be propper now, would it? So please choose your words and arguments with a bit more diligence and discretion. Call it a small request if you will.
