My take is it will be about 25-30k more than KTM, which would not be bad at all.

Re: BMW G310R Bookings start in Malaysia!
BMW is seen as a premium brand and I can pretty much gurantee it will not pitch itself below KTM in any manner. BMW is not looking to make a mass market bike. And so pricing could be in the 3lk range whether it's produced here or not is not the point.

Then why launch a small bike ?
if it comes with a price tag starting 3-4 then may be the mid sized 500-800cc segment would be more successfull !?
the 200-400cc space is already crowded.

You probably did not read their press release document if thats what you think.Originally posted by Kaushik Iyer View Postsimple... they're making it here not for this market, albeit for exporting. So they're looking at this a sort of entry of their brand, not as a mass market foray into entry level bikes!

The festive season will start with a bang as the BMW Motorrad G310Rcaught testingRumour millcarry a price tag in the range of Rs 2.5 to 3.0 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect to hear an official statement from the Indo-German duo closer to the launch date.
The BMW may not undercut the Austrian pocket-rocket, the KTM 390 Duke, in terms of pricing which currently retails at an ex-showroom tag of Rs 1.80 lakh.

'BMW' and 'Highly competitive prices' are the opposites of each other.
Unless 'Highly competitive prices' is with reference to MV Agusta and the likes.
I'm guessing ex-showroom above 3 lakhs.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Re: BMW G310R Bookings start in Malaysia!
BMWs producing a small displacement bike was also unheard of earlier. Here the strategy and goal is different. They are looking at numbers by tapping the entry level markets in developed markets and performance segment in developing markets like India. For the effort to make sense they have to price it accordingly. While it may not be priced below D390, it won't be priced premium just because its a BMW. I believe it would be priced sweetly in between and they would be careful not to come too close to twin cylinder territory (R3 and Ninja)Originally posted by tanay View Post'BMW' and 'Highly competitive prices' are the opposites of each other.

I'm guessing ex-showroom above 3 lakhs.Ride swift, ride safe...
