Unfortunately, Bajaj seems to be concentrating on feeding the festive demand for its current bikes and the launch of VS400 has been pushed out. The tentative launch dates have not been revealed.

S Ravikumar, President - Business Development, Bajaj Auto mentioned this on an interview on CNBC - TV18

"We have pushed the Pulsar launch to a later date, exact date we will announce a bit later, but right now, this and next month, we are going to be concentrating on feeding the festive demand."

At least they could have launched the VS 400 and done the pre-ordering. I dont understand how could the launch affect the deliveries of the commuter bikes.. Look at how the Apache was launched..it was launched way back in Jan and i still dont see any 200RTR in mumbai...what TVS has done is blocked the customers from moving to other bikes....Wrong move to me.BAJAJ

Well frankly if Bajaj would have done that it's reputation would have been at stake. Not good to book bikes but not deliver on time. You as a customer will you be happy if you have paid and still you not getting your bike on time. I would have not liked it and would have created lot of issues for the company.

So as far as I am concerned, Bajaj is doing the right thing

Could this be true? Heard/read a lot about two variants (ABS/Non-ABS), but this article is talking about two differently powered versions.

Thanks, Interesting to note indeed. Mr. Bajaj himself accepted that the bike should have been launched end of Aug, but that is now moved to November. Couple of points worth noting from the interview :

"Honestly, this launch was to be in the end of August, but then we realised that it will distract us from building volumes for the festive season and so,we have now delayed it to November. So, November is when this launch will be. I do not have an exact date.

It will be an interesting launch because it will not be in all probability a Pulsar. For now, let me just say that a 400 cc Pulsar makes as much sense as a 150 cc Royal Enfield. So, when we are getting into a different category, it would be wise to look at a new brand. So, that is a big move that I am happy to share with you today"

A good video of the bike at standstill sans any camo. Hope nobody gets into trouble due to this.

I didn't like the front look but those seats looks big and comfy. Tyres are MRF which I think is for cost cutting. I really hope engine should be niggle free.

Is the article about the VS400 having two variants true? I've been waiting for it since it was showcased, but 34hp seems a little less for its 400cc tag. Also, I hope the bike is big enough for tall riders like me. (6'4")

I couldn't help but notice this the bike has the pulsar branding on these photos here but the latest news from Bajaj seems that they will not be going forward with the Pulsar Branding and instead with a new name. In that case this whole TVC shoot will be in vain rather they might do a re-shoot with the new Christening to the bike. Can't really figure out what made them to re brand all of a sudden.
Guys I am not sure if i am missing something, please correct me if I am wrong with my speculation.
