So, with that weight, Bajaj has clearly targeted TB500/Classic 500.
Now imagine the performance of D390 after adding a permanent pillion of 65-70 kg on it.

Power is also less by a good 6-7 horses

Since its a Cruiser, power figures cant be matched with Duke 390, its for outright performance. It all depends on the Torque figures.

Lets wait for the actual specs and not speculate.

But max power comes at 8k rpm. So max torque should be at 6k rpm. Perfect for a cruiser.

Lol no ways it can be that heavy..its the same d390 engine with ns frame and an extended swingarm and still a naked bike how could they add 50 kgs..even. If the exhaust adds up 10kgs it should never cross 180 provided they have 15lts fuel tank

I would not mind the power decrease from 44~ to 35 bhp, because this should hopefully give it better low to mid range tractability.
(NOTE: I'm saying hopefully, because its not necessary that a low power, low revving engine will be more torquey. Case in point is 2008 R1 vs FZ1, where R1 still has better low end torque due to superior tuning, research and components, plus the top end too. I suspect that, compared to the Street Triple 675, the Daytona also has better/similar low to mid range, however can't confirm this for now.)

But I hope the 202 kgs weight figure is wrong, that too by a good margin. Since its a naked bike, it would've done great weighing around 160-165 kgs in my opinion. But this is not final so let's not drop to conclusions...

If however this is true, I hope Kawasaki worked on this bike. Because only they can sell a Ninja 650 weighing 200 kgs+, and then an underbored 400cc weighing the same. And then it should be bulletproof reliable.
Anyhow, let's wait for more facts to be uncovered.

On a lighter note, what is making the bike this heavy? The additional sparkplugs?
