    First lure the fish with bait, and then use taxes to reel them in Make in India!
    Some states already have road taxes higher than 7% (ap/telangana 9%)

    Collecting a little more tax is fine, but as someone pointed out.. the collected money isn't being put to good use. The money's final destination has hardly changed over the years

      @Nithesh

      20% is a heavy amount of tax, it means 3 Lacs for a bike, worth Rs. 15 Lacs, isn't it?
      Anybody purchasing a bike in MH, better hurry right now!
      Yes. But I'm more worried about Karnataka govt(which is already charging a bomb as road tax for the worst road maintenance possible) will follow through this route and raise their taxes too in the next few months. I'm sure all other state govts are itching to have a bit more pocket change out of two wheeler owners now.
      Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

        I have a doubt , its says 20% on imported vehicles , so is it applicable for a cbu only or is it for ckd units as well ??
