I see a lot of RTRs when compared to KTMs and CBRs, hence my comment.

And, 100k is still a psychological barrier of sorts for most in India w.r.t a motorcycle.

P.P.S - Not many 40k 100 cc motorcycles out there today!

And less than 0.1% of them are ABS equipped. Infact I dare stick my head out and say, if you actually do a count of ABS equipped Apache and ABS equipped 250R, the latter will be greater in number.

Returning to the topic at hand, how is this "patent" by TVS different from the transmission found in, say, the VFR1200 or the Aprillia Mana.

If its sarcasm then dont read ahead.

From wiki : "In 1988, BMW introduced an electronic/hydraulic ABS for motorcycles, ten years after Daimler Benz and Bosch released the first four-wheel vehicle ABS for series production"

So TVS BMW merger is good news afterall, maybe they can get some brilliant tech BMW uses and incorporate in consumer grade bikes. TVS does brilliant RnD when it comes to concepts and new products.

Has no Dual Clutch. It sounds like they're only implementing the handlebar up/down gear shifters like the VFR's. + being upper gear and - being lower.

The Step-Through is a reference to the frame design and is not a different category of two wheeler.

The Hero Honda Street was a "Step-through motorcycle". Almost every scooter on the market is also a "Step-through scooter"*. As the name indicates, the step-through lacks the top tube that connects the seat tube to the head tube(one with your handlebar/bearings) so its easier for the ladies to hop on/off it without the need to swing their legs over the seat like men. Also helps old people to run about town without practicing their karate kicks every morning.

It was derived from the step-through bicycle frame that is primarily used on a ladies bicycle without the top tube.

I also don't understand why people separate scooter and motorcycles when they discuss monthly sales of manufacturers in India when in fact the first patent of a scooter lists its definition as "A form of motorcycle which encloses all its mechanical components in a closed body" or something on those very lines.

*-A scooter is also a "step-through motorcycle" by definition.

Probably a difference between definitions and common parlance!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
