Personally, I never considered it to be a good looking scoot. What got me into it were 1. Exclusivity 2. Aprilia brand 3. Those 14" tyres 4. Bike esque telescopic forks. Looks wise Ray-ZR looks good, but there is no match for Vespa scoots though, they ooze quality and look beautiful as well.

You did the right and wise thing, I have spoken with the customer care, they say they have 'strictly no cancellation' policy, and hence they can't cancel my order, and they won't even honour the '2000 Cashback' they promised, they say I have to purchase it even if it doesn't fit my requirements to get it. So in short, I lost 2000 rupees due to over excitement.

Is this a warning for those who are eager to buy BMW G310r without really testing it.

          1. The suspension is firm. Not harsh. That with the 14 inch wheels with vee rubber gets you the confidence that lacks in scooters.
          2. Braking on any other scooter in India is just pathetic. This gives you that control over the power it has.
          3. This is not a scooter for groceries.. haha.. footboard is too small for that..
          4. This is for people who need bike like handling with the convenience of an automatic acooter.
          5. You need some time to get used to any new bike.. the same is the case here..
          6. And for the ladies in the pillion seat, you definitely need to buy a proper after market side foot rest if it isn't available as an accessory. The foot pegs won't help. May be that wasnt there on the test vehicle.
          7. The design won't appeal to a lot of people. It's about personal taste..

Its a warning for every one, who buy anything without test riding. And this scooter isnt bad at all, You can say- Its like KTM RC of Scooters. Enthusiast, but impractical for family guys. Mostly targeted towards youth.
This scoot was solely made in India, hence no reviews were to be found before. But the BMW bike has already been launched in other parts of world, and its reviews are good. .

Agreed!! It's not a scooter for carrying family around.. it's made for performance!! I wish they launched a more powerful engine..

I absolutely agree with these points, by sharing my experience, I was stressing on two aspects actually, 1. This is not a family scooter, 2. Don't blindly go for anything without seeing/knowing/test riding. The scoot a will be a hoot to drive, for enthusiasts, there is no second thought about it. But I was searching for a middle ground, where I don't have to loose the power, handling, braking and proper feel of bike then adding the convenience of a family scooter, I was disappointed, as the scoot didn't meet 'my' requirement.

Having said this, and buy judging comments on most of the auto sites/forums, most the prospectus buyers, and who actually went on to book SR150 were in the same boat.

Re: Aprilia SR150 launched in India at Rs 65,000

Took 2 test rides of the sr150.
I am replacing my 4yr old discover 100t with this scooter. Wanted to have the comfort of cvt without compromising a lot on the ride quality.
I also have a kawasaki ninja 250r for touring.

My observations during the test ride of the sr150-

                        - Power is the main highlight. I didn't have a pillion with me and I weigh 64kgs. The sr150 pulled cleanly with a lot of urgency. I was doing 70kmph in no time at all. Roll-on acceleration is also better than any other scooter available in the market right now.
                        - The ride quality and shock absorption is definitely better than other scooters cuz of the bigger wheels. It's not as easy on the spine as the commuter bikes, but you can't complain too much when you have the convenience of cvt and scooter structure.
                        - footboard space is the least among all the scooters. I just have to keep my laptop bag there, so I couldn't care much.
                        - seat is of very good quality and I like it a lot. Properly comfy for me.
                        - I don't understand why people are cribbing about bad quality plastics. Plastics are of good quality and just that the grain on the plastic is different. I quite like it cuz it's easier to clean and apply dashboard Polish.
                        - Braking in the front is amazing with a lot of progressive feel. Rear brakes are just about average. Will suit the kind of person who uses front brakes more than rear( which is what I do).
                        - storage space is strictly limited but I can understand the reasons behind it. Bigger engine will require a lot more space and there has to be a compromise.
                        - The exhaust note is chirpy at idle and properly throaty while on the move. I quite liked the exhaust note.
                        - Engine is extremely refined and almost unbelievably silent when cruising with part throttle inputs. I didn't experience any abnormal vibrations even at idle. This is a long stroke engine, so the vibes at idle is a little more than suzuki access.
                        - The mirrors are of good quality and properly functional
                        - quality of paint and body panels are good. I have booked the matte black version
                        - I am happy that all the body panels are made of plastic.
                        - Fuel efficiency might not be good. Expecting 35kmpl.
                        - 7ltrs fuel tank is nice to have.

Good review!!! I have booked mine but seems eastern India will get it the last by end of Sep.. really sucks as Aprilia should have sent vehicles at least the demo bikes to all dealerships prior to the official launch.. Been 2 weeks since launch and we don't even have a test ride vehicle in Kolkata!!

I heard from my brother that suspension is little on the stiffer side but atleast they won't crash to the end like other scooters throwing you off balance..

                            From my observations -

                            - This scooter is not like the multipurpose activa or access. Footboard space and under seat storage is nowhere comparable
                            - The scooter is taller than any other scooter in the market, so if you are thinking of buying it for short ladies or parents, it's definitely not gonna work out.
                            - It takes some time to get used to the way it handles. It's got the composure of a bike, but still feels like a scooter over rough patches of tarmac. People coming from Activa kind of scooters will find it weird.
                            - This scooter is for the bike enthusiasts who have a big bike, but need a secondary vehicle for daily commutes.

Re: Aprilia SR150 launched in India at Rs 65,000

I wanted to buy a scooter 6 months back. Even had a test ride of Honda Activa3g as well as 125..Ray ZR etc.. but I didn't enjoy the ride over those... Found about pcx150 to be launched in India and decided to wait.. but looks like Honda did not have the guts to rollout a 150 cc scooter for the Indian market dominated by bikes in that segment..
Finally when I heard about the Aprilia and saw the reviews of first ride, I told myself "this is it!!". Stiff suspension for a better Riding dynamics is fine with me.. analog instrument panel, low boot space.. who cares.. all that matter to me is enjoying the ride over a powerful engine with good handling and I guess this is the most powerful and fastest scooter in the Indian market. Booked it on 22nd Aug and the dealer in Kolkata has no clue when this will arrive.. Been long days since then waiting for it to be delivered!!
