Nice to see this switch here. Time to put a kill switch (not i3s) on all 150+cc bikes too.

Not an engine kill switch. It is a switch to turn on and off the i3S.

Yes Avinash, that's what I exactly wanted to say. Now that they have shown that even Hero bikes have a provision on the switchgear assy for a switch, they can provide a kill switch on other bikes from factory.

This is not acceptable . hero should upgrade it to 100 section tire asap...

Aesthetically, it looks like the bigger brother of iSmart.
Technically, the rear section should've been of 100 profile. Plastics do not look very good. Seat looks as if it's pretty comfortable.
Logically a superb price point. An affordable 150cc at the price of 125cc(even less than some 'best selling' 125ccs). A sensible upgrade for Splendor users.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Except those Honda Twister like tires, No complains with the bike. But I bet, Only that tire part guarantees the product failure. would have got away, had it been a 125cc. If pitched against Unicorn, make it on par with Unicorn in looks. Though the upper part looks fairly "Big", Put a 110 Spec rear tire, and see it fly off the shelves.

110 spec tire would overdo. The mileage would reduce!! I assume this bike is to pull in commuters who are looking for 150cc bike with a tight budget!!!

Yes, didnt knew the Unicorn's tyre spec. But if made broader, will attract youth more. Else the audience will only be practical middle aged commuter, which is very less.

But still 80 section rear tire on 150cc bike is blunder. This is pure madness.

Guys, its ok if a commuter is not touched engine wise, because I've seen stuff going wrong when this happened.
A striking example is Pulsar 180 going UG2 to UG3, sure it gained a little more power.. but some vibrations and lost low end torque too, isn't it? You could launch both the bikes back to back and feel "it".
Another example is how the Unicorn engine was tuned to be a 14.4PS CBZ Xtreme... Not ridden it myself, but I'm told the legendary Unicorn qualities were gone.

I don't think the commuter (or even an enthusiast for that matter) would want 0.5 bhp in exchange of vibrations and low end torque. Would you?

So, no complaints on the engine part, from my side. I'm sure the end user would be cruising happily. No point screwing it for 0.xx bhp more, and I would've done the same thing.

Now for the rear tyre, well, I guess in a country where people don't even wear helmets, I would expect the manufacturer to think about safety as its own initiative.
But again, maybe that tyre has a compound good enough for a commuter? Its a Ceat Secura+... I heard that, Ceat had launched city based, safe and soft compound tyres 2 years ago. I'm not sure if its the same tyre though... Will have to check.

I don't know what happened to hero R&D department... Ar they lost their minds or what...

                              Tale example ...
Old Zmr replaced by funny new zmr...
Old cbz replace miniature of zmr (which was doing great) but they immediately shift new Cbz... which is again a failure...
Hunk was introduced with only sticker which some how look bad...
My question to all.. fr where hero achieve such figures in sale... Is it by selling 100cc model which was already a decade old .. ot what...

Re: Hero Achiever 150 Launched at Rs 61800/- Ex-Showroom Delhi

For someone like me, who likes the Unicorn's engine, but hate the hard mono-shocks - this is a good buy at an economical cost.

I was planning to move to Hero (using the familiar Honda engine) that offers dual rear shocks for better city riding.

The Unicorn's mono-shock, in my experience, works the best with a pillion. Riding single to office and back, in Bangalore traffic and in smaller roads, at speeds of 20-40 kmph city speeds, is hard on the back, at an age when your doctor starts to become your family friend.

After 60-70kmph, it kind-of glides. And it does fish-tail when braking and it is quite spongy.

Hope those issues are resolved with this new seating in the Achiever.

Upon approval from Lord Kuber (salary-giver) and upon Home/Finance Ministry (we-all-know-who), will plan to move to this bike, citing health/back pain reasons.

PS - Drink tea and twist the wrist.

                                Cheers
