    Thanks for that info mate.

But my argument is, there shouldn't be any surcharge at all.
Petrol vendors are charging customers more money, so they pay that to the Banks for digital payment services.

The reversal is like. They charge something, which should not have done and then claim they give reversal benefits.

As per government notification there is no surcharge by the bank. Hence get it reversed. Even I had been charged 11.5 Rs for filling petrol in my scooter. I have to get it reversed by the State Bank of Patiala in Kota, Rajasthan. 3% will kill you in long run of transaction. If like like cash transaction 1.5%, card transaction 0%, can welcome somehow. Very shrewd and greedy move.

Indeed. Even if you shop at few electronic shops specifically some computer shops here at Kolkata you will have to pay extra 2%. Really this rule has to be strict by govt and there should not be any surcharge or simply no extra money while paying cashless.

One more thing why some shops doesn't accept card under 100 rs billed amount? This is another part where govt people should focus on. But whatever we say in this forum I don't thing that gonna change something. So better to keep quite and watch out govt for their next big step.

Keep in mind. If the card is debit card, there is instant electronic debiting from the account. Hence there is no processing fee.
If processing fee, surcharge fee, service charge fee is charged in the various names than this is the result of government rules failed to address this issue or government in connivance with banks not addressing this issue. (Either way very much possible in India)

If the card is credit card, there is no instant debiting, however the amount transferred to the seller is at the month end, by Banks. In this case there is likely hood of charging surcharge. Depends upon country rules.

Many banks out of India do not charge anything on the card either debit or credit to promote use. One credit card and one debit card is free of annual fee and transaction fee per account.
Usually if the government rules are not stringent, Banks will play to get money through loopholes.
