    2017 KTM RC series launched in India

    KTM has launched its new 2017 KTM RC 200 and RC 390 in India today 19th Jan 2017, an upgrade to the existing bikes KTM RC 200 and RC 390. KTM priced the RC 390 at Rs. 2.25 lakhs and RC 200 at Rs. 1.71 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) The major features and upgrades comes with the new RC series are

    Ride by Wire,
    Side slung exhaust,
    Adjustable levers,
    EVAP system,
    CAN BUS

    There is no change in the engine specification but the front disc brakes got bigger as 320mm from 300mm. New side slung exhaust to adhere the Euro IV compliant. New graphics on the body and slight increase in power by 1Nm of torque.

    KTM plans to bring Adventure series this year but before that Duke's will be upgraded in the first quarter 2017. RC 200 is not upgraded with new exhaust whereas it got new graphics design with the combinations of white and orange.

    This exhaust is looking good to me compare to the underbelly..

      The exhaust note will also change rite ?
      Too bad the dash remains the same.
      The exhaust is looking very ordinary imo.


      P.s - The EVAP system will be one more reason for the 'Check Engine' light to come On

        Exhaust look is ordinary but its good to not having a underbelly on a sports bike. I guess the ABS is there. Am I correct?

            Updates are fine. Still I would prefer older underbelly exhaust as its making easy to drive in traffic than sided one.

              Can someone please let me know the on-road cost in Delhi..i am planning to buy this one. Also what all should i ask my dealer to give me as discount/freebies. Thanks in advance

                Somewhere close to 2.5 lacs on road Delhi (plus minus ten thousand, depending upon what type of insurance you choose and stuff).
                Ex showroom is 2.25 lacs Delhi.

                Freebies and discounts on a bike that released today = Zero. Older models may also not fetch you any discounts unless the dealership is facing a sale crunch.

                  Sharing some titbits which I didn't see here.
                  The new RC390 has much more than what meets the eye. A new smaller ECU, new fuel pump by Bosch with revised pump pressure, wider front alloy(slightly modified abs mount(read wiring) due to the same + disc change), ABS model is now displayed in meter, If kill switch is off, it displays 'KILL SWITCH OFF', adjustable brake and clutch levers, some part changes to engine including some changes in the slipper clutch, more rubber mounts to reduce vibes, bigger front disc, sintered front brake pads etc are the very few things. There are many more which I dont remember at the moment.
                  Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

                    And not to forget the can bus implementation.
                    Might be a hurdle for folks looking to add extra electrical/electronics on..
                    The evap canister has already been in place since 2016 on the EU versions.
                    But overall a very good product update without breaking the bank.
                    And I hope the adjustable levers will be a direct fit on the existing dukes/rc's and priced reasonably!

                        Can noone see the pathetic paint scheme? The previous one was so much better. Not as awesome as the RC200 but still better than this

                            Well, looks and color's are subjective.
                            I like this new paint scheme (more so on the 390).. gives the bike a crisp/fresh look.

                              I do agree with you..well this is more of an individual choice. Indeed for me it feels like a totally new bike.
