Please clarify whether you mean Indian launch or a Global one. Because, a global one is the true news though (and an old one too).

    KTM 250 DUKE 2017

But, if you believe me, Duke 200 will not be replaced by Duke 250 any time soon, as it believed. Duke 250 will be produced and directly exported from India's Chakan plant, but like the ABS models of Duke 200, it won't be sold in India.
Of course, I could be partially or entirely wrong. In either case, please post the source of your news.

    Please PM me.

Multiple sources say there will be a 125, 200, 250, 300 and 390 Duke and RC. But only the 200 and 390 will be sold in India.

The KTM website itself confirms this - the international sites list all the bikes, but the Indian site only lists the 200 and 390 Dukes and RCs.

Ok, so finally it seems 250 is coming instead of 200. Source: Youtuber who owns a showroom and @JS16

If 250 is coming (which I still think will not come) then expect new duke 390 cost around 2.45-2.5L (ex showroom) and 250 around 1.85-1.9L ex showroom.

I don't see why they would.

Let's not forget that the KTM Duke 125 and RC 125 are also made in India, but only sold abroad. So it's not that surprising that they would build the 250 here but not sell it here, just like these other existing models.

KTM might, looking at the competition now (Dominar, FZ25 and upcoming R15)

:P haha! It should be 25K more than the D200.

                      Hello,
The article is of 28th Jan. The things change. Like Apache 200 was spotted with Carb only, but they have a Fi variant as well. Nevermind not launched yet.

Also i am just wondering what would be the market apart from India where they use Mrf Zapper C1 tyres and without abs 🤣

                      No?

Re: 2017 KTM DUKE 390 unveiled at EICMA, Indian launch on 23 Feb.

There are many reason why it makes little to no sense.

A 250 will be a new engine to deal with for after-sales support / servicing / repairs, right now KTM just has two engines to worry about in India. This makes servicing simpler and cheaper.

Also, a 250 would sit right in between the the 200 and the 390, which are already very closely priced with each other now. So why bother introducing a third engine size in the middle? What's the advantage?

It would make more sense to put out an even bigger bike than the 390, like the 690, and challenge Kawasaki's 650cc range, for example. Or branch out into dirt bikes / adventure bike sales in India (and we know the 390 Adventure is coming out next year, so KTM already has their hands full with that).

tl;dr Releasing a 250 here strikes me as a lot more work for not much payoff, strategically. Just because they make it here, doesn't mean they will release it here. See: 125 Duke / RC, made here but not sold here. So it's the same thing with the 250.

A 250 will not make sense In this market tbh.. Im eager to see the new duke, new console, more heavy, more stable hopefully. Coming to the 600cc segment I think the 790 could release next year, if CKD it will kill the mid range market for sure!

True that!! Even if they plan to take out 200 it wont be cost effective to em.
