I am excited too.. but then.. I know I can't buy one..
There's always a richie rich for us guys who'll buy it and ride it and if God has mercy upon us, he'll ride by our side and we can watch.
Anything above my 220 feels like God showing me mercy coz I know I cannot afford anything bigger.
ZX-6R is gonna be such a tasty bike that will make anyone go weak on the knees.

Absolutely. Yes, it is a treat. But for some reason, i liked previous gen Zr6r

Such a beautiful looking bike. Not i will get confused with the Ninja 400 and this as they almost look similar. And yeah, even the Ninja 650 looks similar while the previous gen was a beauty and one of a kind

Totally agree with you, I was super excited about the ZX6R launch rumours in India but not anymore cause this is not want I wanted. This looks just like the ninja 400 and equally as fugly to it. Plus, I'm not interested in bad looking bikes no matter how well it performs, Just made my choice of going for a used Daytona much easier.

Unfortunately, we've reached a point where the big bikes must give their DNA to the smaller ones (which sell more)... We've also reached a point where product saturation is at its highest... Not much improvement is possible, in fact now we start losing performance due to Euro norms.

When Kawasaki made ZX10R look a bit like H2, and made Ninja 400 look a bit like H2 too, then what is left? This had to happen to ZX 6R. On the contrary, questions would arise if the ZX6R looked any different than this.
I like it from some angles, not so much from others, but I'm overall very positive.

And, everybody's doing the same thing. Yamaha brought the alien like R1 looks to R6. It definitely has haters around the world.

I'm only thanking God at least (recently announced) Ninja 125 has a single central headlamp.

It the end, it all comes down to business.... Earning money.

Its your decision, but still I would suggest you wait.
The 600's party is just started, and we might have a gatecrasher from the 750cc category too... GSX 750R?
Probably, we might have the R6 if the 600cc category goes under homologation-free entry norm, because R6 was Euro 4 since 2017, its ready to enter.

But just remember, Daytona is detuned, although its the lightest among these bikes too. You'd be able to get few more horses with that Arrow exhaust, but that's it, as far as convenient modding goes...

Re: Kawasaki Ninja ZX 6R spotted undergoing homologation at ARAI. Will it launch?

Now let's imagine this bike comes to India. And it is sensibly priced.

What would I do? Do I sell my Z800? Which has absolutely no problems.
Let me summarize my riding of superbike in India.

I ride it on weekend rides. Which has reduced a lot over 4 years, since buying the bike. The traffic has increased by a big margin. The roads which were deserted 5 years back are full now. The Z is simply fast for such rides.
Usually ride it to office on weekdays, atleast two days. Which is boring ride to be honest. Just keep on heating the bike in traffic. Spending the time in just 3 gears and low speed.
By the time weekend comes, I am out of energy. And sunday morning goes in sleep mode.

So should I sell my Z for like 5-6 lakh rupees? And then spend another 5-6 lakh rupees to buy a Supersports ZX6R? On which I will be doing all of the above things just in a 'punishment' position. Not to mention lesser torque than my Z and lesser practicality than a street bike. I can ride the Z for long time without getting tired. I can't say the same for ZX6R.

Unless the track which was to come near Lonavala [Freddie Spencer inaugurated] opens up. Then only a supersports would be justified. Till then I will save money for a new bike!

Just now back from servicing my Z 800. According to the service center head, Kawa is launching 6 new bikes in 2019.
                    Zx6r and zx6rr?
                    Ninja 125, Z125
This is bit surprising, since Kawasaki don't make scooters. But use Kymco scooters as their base.

                    400 twin scooter!?

6000 kms or 6 months whichever is earlier.

Yes both. It is their recommended interval. But i don't follow it by the book. If the engine running is low,you can skip the 6 months interval. The gap for my bike service was one year this time.
According to Kawasaki, three things should be maintained properly. Air intake system, spark plugs and oil quality. Owing to our Indian riding conditions. The air entering the engine is very dusty in India. A lot of superbikers have to change the air filters frequently, as they become clogged. Spark plugs should be checked owing to our fuel quality and it's octane. And lastly the oil quality should not deteriorate with our riding styles. Heating in traffic and all.

These things are susceptible to damage easily. Other mechanical parts are pretty much resilient to our roads. I am guessing these criteria are applicable to all superbikes in India.

Thanks for clarifying. I asked because I am sure you are using a Fully synthetic engine oil and I know that the drain interval is 6months/8000kms so I was wondering why you said 6000kms. But Yes it all varies depending on riding conditions.

They are using Motul 7100 10w40 in my Z800. Fully synthetic. But it really depends on use. Use your superbike on empty roads and lower temperatures, and see the difference. Instead of traffic and hotter temperatures.

BTW I think two versions of ZX6R might be coming. A base model and a KRT model.
