Re: Jawa launches 2 motorcycles starting at INR 1.55 Lakhs
I'm almost certain that the engine performance and reliability will be good since the engine is derived from Mojo which has good reviews, and along with six speed gearbox it's going to be a good motorcycle for touring.Originally posted by Bikerclan View Post

Re: Jawa launches 2 motorcycles starting at INR 1.55 Lakhs
Hi. Sorry to be a spoilt sport with respect to the information so painstakingly compiled by you.Originally posted by NewsReaper View PostJawa motorcycles has showed 3 new motorcycles at the launch event in Mumbai. One is called Jawa, the second one is called Jawa Forty Two and the third one, a factory custom called Perak to come later. The Jawa has been launched at INR 1,64,000/- (Ex-Showroom) and the Jawa Forty Two has been launched at INR 1,55,000/- (Ex-Showroom.) Jawa has revealed the price of the factory custom Perak will start from INR 1,89,000/- but will be introduced later.

All 3 of the motorcycles are powered by the same engine which is a 293cc, single-cylinder, 4-Stroke, DOHC, liquid cooled unit. The bore x stroke is 76x65mm. The compression ratio sits at 11:1. It makes 27 Bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque. It gets a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox and a twin exhaust.
The chassis and frame specs of the Jawa model have been revealed. The engine sits in a Double cradle frame. The front tyre is a 90 section and the rear is a 120 section. Telescopic forks at the front and twin shocks handle the suspension duties. On the Jawa model, 280 mm disc brakes at the front handle the braking duties with the help of ABS and rear is a drum unit.
The seat height is one of best parts which is at 765mm. It has a wheelbase of 1369mm. The kerb weight is sitting at 170 Kg with the fuel tank of 14 litres filled to the brim. The Jawa will be offered in 3 colors whereas the Jawa Forty Two will have six color options.

We’ll keep the updates coming.
Whereas the JAWA and the JAWA Forty Two have the 293cc engine, the Perak has a larger engine 334cc due to the larger bore churning 30bhp & 31Nm.

Re: Jawa launches 2 motorcycles starting at INR 1.55 Lakhs
Not sure why people are comparing RE 650 cc twins with JAWA 300 cc twins. The segments both these play are altogether different. One is 650 cc segment and the other is 300 cc segment. In one word, compare JAWA 300 cc twins ONLY with RE 350/500 cc twins.Originally posted by Kunwar.g View PostIs this the teal colour. Looks much lighter in real life than on their website. Love the colour. Mahindra should work on getting TD vehicles asap, before people keep waiting for it while the twins start delivery
Also, not to forget the massive 1 lakh rupees price difference on-road, between RE 650 cc twins and JAWA 300 cc twins.
And what about mileage for a 650 cc engine. We can be rest assured that a 300 cc would return a respectable mileage and the practicality a 300 cc will bring for city/town/village riding on a daily basis.
Please don't forget, a normal motorcycle buyer is not going to bother and buy a 650 cc bike against a 300 cc bike.Last edited by Jackharrisw; 11-17-2018, 09:12 AM.

Re: Jawa launches 2 motorcycles starting at INR 1.55 Lakhs
Am sold on looks and attention to detail on Jawas.
Only gripes (and sort of deal breaker for me) are tube tires (heard some fluids can fix this) and 18 inch front limiting tyre choices.
I enjoy going tire shopping and enjoy trying new options out.
I don't know how powerful these would be. But since people are comparing re twins to duke390, I would say these would be more sensible choice for our conditions. Having extra power can be addictive through.

The jawa is not a twin.. it is a single cylinder with twin exhausts.Originally posted by Jackharrisw View PostNot sure why people are comparing RE 650 cc twins with JAWA 300 cc twins. you are right, comparing this with the RE twins is like apples to oranges.
the more apt would be to compare it with the RE 350 singles.
Jawa seems to have got the retro looks right, now the actual on road performance and ownership/service experience is what we should wait and watch. At least they haven't priced it absurdly.

I guess right now the big problem for the rider is few showrooms as well as a service center. Plus no test ride review is been uploaded by anyone and if it is then, please share the link with me.
