KTM Duke 200 'ABS' launched in India.

At an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.6 Lacs (Rs. 9k above the non-ABS model), KTM has finally launched the KTM Duke 200 ABS in India, thus completing a package that a small sized sportsbike must be.
It was already being produced at the Bajaj's Chakan plant, Pune for the export market, but India welcomes this variant now.

The ABS system is developed by Bosch. The pics show ABS rings on both wheels... But this may be single/ dual channel ABS. Further confirmation is awaited.

The 200 Duke ABS will be available in three colours – orange, white and black – across the entire KTM dealership network in India, which spans 450 outlets.

Soon, around April 2019, there will be a mandation in effect to have ABS on all new bikes and scooters above 125cc. And KTM, by all means is "Ready to Race", if we may say so. For now, even non ABS model will continue to be sold as long as it can.

    What do you think Xbhpians?
It is going to be mandatory in the future, and we thank KTM for thinking about this today, but does it have the demand for now?
Will the common customer go the distance and spend 9k more for safety? (Ideally they should! But will they?)

All MCs above 125cc and above will be having ABS from April 1, 2019 which is about 4 months away. So yeah, if people dont wanna spend extra cash for ABS, they have 4 months to make their decision.

So it's finally here, 2019 KTM Duke 200 with single channel ABS!

Going by the above 2 pics, the tyres seem to be Metzeler Sportec M5's!
Is the pic from International model? All websites are publishing the same pics. So, are the MRF's now replaced with Metz in this 2019 model along with adding ABS in this update?

If anyone has more information, please share the same.

Good to see ABS finally in Duke 200, atleast single channel.

If I remember correctly, I bought the Duke 200 for ₹1,45,000 On Road Chennai in April 2012. Now after 6 years the ABS model will breach ₹1,85,000 on road I reckon. Gradually this pocket rocket does not seem to be Value for Money..

KTM living upto their aspirational premium offering type of positioning now. I can imagine how the Huskies might be priced now..

But ..do you still think single channel abs is sufficient in such pocket rocket ..why cant they provide dual channel abs..at least as a option..

Yes, I'm guessing their making way for the Duke 125. Might be in the ₹1,25,000 ex-showroom range.

The 200 already was being sold with abs in certain markets for a while now iirc.
most customers will opt for non abs while it is available, why doubt

Exactly, prices seems to have shot up.. i would rather say bang for your buck is down comparatively.. the 390 is now 3.1L otr !! Considering there are no similar bikes in the market and their success with the ktms, bajaj has been gradually increasing the prices. Good business tactics if you ask me.
Now slowly other companies are looking at 200+ cc bikes and making them here to be cost effective and also make a buck exporting them (lessons from bajaj i guess)

Because the INdian government doesnt mandate that.

You see the sequence of asking this question has changed over the years.

First people asked "Why cant they provide atleast a single channel ABS option"

Now people ask "Why cant they provide dual channel ABS option"

Now, people will complain about duke 200 not getting slipper clutch, ride by wire, led headlights etc [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
