  • Pulsar 125 Neon launched at INR 64,000/- (Ex-showroom Delhi)

Bajaj has launched the most affordable Pulsar christened as Pulsar 125 Neon. This Pulsar is equipped with ‘Tron’ like neon lines and a relatively affordable price tag of INR 64,000(Ex-showroom, Delhi) for the drum brake variant and INR 66,618 (Ex-showroom, Delhi) for the disc brake variant.

Similar to the Pulsar 150, the recently launched Pulsar 125 Neon is all set to pulsate the youth with its quirky color palette. It is available in three color options, the first being the Neon Blue (on matte black body), Solar Red and Platinum Silver. Similar to its name tag, this Pulsar will have neon accents on its fuel tank, alloy wheels, grab rail and side body cowl.

Powering the Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon is a 124.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine mated to a 5-speed transmission. The engine is good for churning out 12 bhp of power and 11 Nm of torque. Another addition is the inclusion of a counter-balancer which is going to ensure minimum vibrations for a smoother ride.

Equipped with 240mm disc brakes at the front and 130mm drum brake at the rear, this Pulsar is same as its 150cc cousin in the braking department. The suspension system of the bike comprises of conventional telescopic forks at the front while the rear gets twin spring gas-charged shock absorbers. With the Pulsar 125 Neon, Bajaj has now made the Pulsar brand more accessible to the masses.

On the heavier side for a 125cc in my opinion.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

That was the first thought. V12 was recently the most heavy 125cc at 133kgs. Glamour comes next.

This bike was launched way back in 2004 as the discover 125, the first generation discover. First generation discover 125 and 135 shared the chassis and engine with the pulsar. Those were good products too. But the 125cc was discontinued within a year and the 112cc disco was launched.

The disco 125 launched in 2011 had an all new engine and frame. But it looks lot slimmer than the original discover. Its still on sale.

Now again after 19 years, bajaj has launched the same bike in pulsar avatar. Only god knows how the decision making process works at bajaj auto.

Discover had a complete new chassis compared to pulsar from day one. The discover whatever cc is available still use the same chassis with only diff graphics. Except for that discover with mono shocks which was discontinued In India.
