  • R.I.P. Yogesh Sarkar of BCMTouring.com

It's with extreme sadness, we came to know the demise of Yogesh Sarkar. A ardent photographer, an avid traveller, a guy with a different perspective, and the founder of BCM TOURING FORUM. Too soon to leave us. It is believed he may have died due to AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) Leh can sometimes be cruel. May lord almighty give his family the courage to endure the tough time.

    RIP

    Love,
    VJ
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

Last year he traveled 9th time to Ladakh after preparing a lot.
He even posted this on his blog and was inspiration to many considering being asthmatic.

And his fate called him to Ladakh this year on his 10th Trip.

    Gone too soon.

Really sad to hear this, BCM touring has been one of the excellent sites for travelers, especially to Himachal and Ladakh. He was a very kind an every helpful person for anyone with queries/doubts and his documentation for these routes are legendary.
              May his soul RIP.

Re: R.I.P. Yogesh Sarkar of BCMTouring.com

Had my own set of differences with him, in opinions, in perceptions, was banned from his online forum a long back but death is painfully cruel when it comes to sorting out differences.
It literally makes you whimper down and regret that you had them and makes you think if you could've sorted them out much earlier.

                  Credit where it's due!

The guy literally made me feel comfortable in doing bike trips instead of looking them as a taboo, his experiences shaped my future plans and helped planning their execution successfully, he brought out the curious side of me and I also enjoyed seeing the world through his camera whenever I got a chance to. Although our ways parted accounting for indifference in our opinions but hey it doesn't matter.
Today, he's gone! Gone for once and for all. Died due to AMS in Ladakh. Funny, he went there 12 times earlier and died on his thirteenth attempt. Talk about allegories and anecdotes.
Yogesh Sarkar, - You still had ages left, what was the need of going on this godforsaken trip man?
Rest in peace, eternally and I can only hope that the heaven high up there is more spectacular and stunning than you were sick with on this land.
                  Hari Om Shanti boss!
Your foe? Your friend? Make your choice man, you're free now.

Rest in Peace Biker bro Yogesh.

Never interacted with him in any way, but I knew him (one-sided) from his efforts at BCM touring. May God bless his soul.

We're bikers, and above that, we're human, we've no idea which day's going to be last. Life is a gift and we should live life to the fullest. And from what I understand, Yogesh lived more in 1 life, than some live in 9 lives.
He's an inspiration to all of us. He shall not be forgotten.

@whytryharder Your message touched me. Beautiful farewell in my opinion, given the story.
You know, we all have differences of opinions. People fight over different opinions. Politics happen in business/ organisations against different opinion-holders. The country burns their blood in online (Facebook, Whatsapp, etc) political opinions, not accounting that even your "opponent" loves the country, & that's why he's concerned... if we only tried to understand the other person's viewpoint, life would be so better..

Today, maybe Yogesh understands that a forum member like you can be more correct too, in some matters at least.
Today, maybe you understand that Yogesh had a big forum to manage, and maybe not enough time to consider each member individually, and maybe he made a hasty or a tough decision...

But in the end, the respect you have for Yogesh... is all that we must have... Here's hoping for peace.
