The engine will likely come mated to a six-speed transmission and a slip and assist clutch is also expected to be on offer.

The global spec new 2019 Yamaha MT-15 will get inverted forks up front but the India bound model will get conventional telescopic forks in order to keep the costs in check. The chassis along with disc brake set up and rear monoshock will also be the same that comes on the R15 V3.0. The new Yamaha MT-15 will also feature an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard as all new two-wheelers having an engine displacement of 125cc and above need to have the said safety equipment mandatorily starting April 2019.

Being a naked offering, Yamaha will position the MT-15 at a lower price than the fully faired R15 V3.0 that is currently on sale at Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, as the bike shares the majority of elements with the R15 V3.0, we believe that the difference in pricing won’t be much. The new Yamaha MT-15 will challenge the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 and Hero Xtreme 200R in the segment

Ohhhh..
This is gonna push the price to 1L ex-showroom.
It anyhow wasn't a value for money proposition from Yamaha. Except may be their scooters, nothing is value for money when competition is brought into play.
Their sales figures clearly show that.

Naked Gixxer with ABS is priced at 88k exshowroom
Theres no FI in it yet but the price of FI if taken from SF comes to around 3.5k
So if Naked Gixxer with (single channel)ABS+FI comes out, it will be priced at 92k exshowroom
BTW No LED headlights on Gixxer

FZS FI with RDB is priced at 88k
Question is does it get single channel or dual channel ABS, if its single then it might very well get priced at less than 95k
Comes with LED headlight!

I am lowkey hoping the console is updated as well so that it can compete with Gixxer's console.

I am lowkey hoping the console is updated as well so that it can compete with Gixxer's console.

Going by how Yamaha India prices their bikes, even the single channel ABS and LED headlight will add 10K to the price(7K for single channel ABS and 3k for LED headlight).
Yamaha is concentrating on the wrong competitor - Hornet and Gixxer.
P150 and Unicorn with simple stuff onboard runs away with 90-100k units per month between them.
