Same here. But Sirac 120/80 is out (source: PrafulOriginally posted by payeng View PostWhat about the Rumoured Soft compound tyres and Suspension tweak..??
I would be very interested to carry them over to my P220 DTS-Fi as well.
) so that might be a good deal as well for non-leaner types.

One from my side the bike will sport an auto choke system which will assist in winter morning start.Yup. No choke system will be comparable to Fuel Injection in terms of winter starts.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostSomething that would not have been required if they had retained the Fi!
IMO, the current P200 and P220Fi both retain their identity.Originally posted by Aryan View PostMan, all this technology makes my P200 look pre-historic!
But, good on Bajaj's part. However, I sincierly hope that there is also a P220 Fi upgrade in the pipeline, because more than anything this 'carb' P220 looks more like a P200 upgrade to me, than anything else.
Actually, let's see when its comes to 'our' hands. Hehehe...Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View Post0-100seems to be around 2 sec faster than the old one.Let's see what other's(Mag guys) have to say about this.
EDIT:- The 'F' sticker. Is it a poke at ZMA 'R' sticker? No brand war intended. To me 'R' makes more sense than 'F'. The only thing that I can think of from 'F' rhymes with Luck!!!...

Now that the FI is gone, things that can be missing now :-
- Crisp Throttle response
- Consistent fuel efficiency
- Not much change in state of tune with change in climate/altitude.
- Refinement levels
- Electrical issues

Praful, I agree that there were electrical issues with the earlier batch(like urs, Payeng), but is it still rampant now? AFAIH the electrical issues have been slowly resolved and brought to a minimum, if not totally eliminated.
Still, the thing I loved about the 220 over the others were its real crisp, neat throttle response with much less vibes! Am gonna miss that.
Is it so tough to tweak an Fi unit for more performance that they had to resort to a carb with all these gizmos?

The issues were not there coz of the FI Unit as such, but more due to the other electrical paraphernalia that came along with the FI (sensors, fuel pump, et all) that was killing the reliability factor of the bike. Mechanicals on this bike are pretty reliable IMHO.Originally posted by Aparajith View PostPraful, I agree that there were electrical issues with the earlier batch(like urs, Payeng), but is it still rampant now? And I have'nt heard of electrical issues on the newer bikes, but then the new bikes have'nt run as much
So only time will tell if they really had nailed the electrical issues too...
But yes, more power meant only 2 ways either a carb or a better more intelligent Fi. I guess Bajaj made an intelligent choice keeping in mind the price concious Indian buyer!
@Payeng: Lovely pics there!
