Guys, remember, even if you wear helmets, You HAVE TO adjust a lot to give others the space they want, however wrong it may be...

    So, be alert out there...

    News Approved.

These types of news fill the everyday newspaper. Sad to see people still riding lidless, although I doubt coming under a bus would have killed them anyhow. But, wearing a lid is the basic safety standard that most of the people riding a two-wheeler fail to follow.

Yes, That's why I said in my post:--> "even if you wear helmets, You HAVE TO adjust a lot to give others the space they want, however wrong it may be..."

So, if a speeding bus comes in your direction occupying the entire space, You'll have to go off road/ off lane to save yourself...

Although I am totally in favor of riding with Lid on, but that would never suffice the need of Sane Riding.
It would be very unjustified of me or for anybody to pass of a judgment by sitting in front of the Computer screen, but I somehow feel that if we are a bit more sane and a bit more alert, a lot of accidents can at times be averted.

sad Such incidents/accidents occur through the length and the breadth of our country and we unfortunately get to see or read about them almost every day, still We just don't learn and Understand.

Pointing fingers at others will do me no good, I am not very happy to say but today morning while coming to the office, the one hour ride from Hari Nagar(Western Delhi) to Faridabad made me come across almost 4 insane people in Cars and Three Wheelers who were all set to Give "LATE" as a prefix to my humble name. I really wonder, are we ourselves not the Unsung Day-to-day War heros, struggling and battling our way, going from home to office and back amidst the miscreants and Angles of Death??? I might have gone a bit overboard. Am I going paranoid with these incidents??

something I would like to share.recently on a trip down south on the 2nd day the Tamil nadu summer heat was unbearable and even on the move I was sweating if I slow down.I coudent ride like that and removed my LID for 1 km and found it very strange riding without one.I felt I was riding Nude and was very uncomfortable.straped my lid back on.Is it me or anyone else has this experience. After having worn a lid while riding a bike It feels ackward to ride one without a lid(kinda the feeling you get when you first sarted wearing a lid)

No bro, nothing paranoid about it! This comes from a guy, who has, for multiple times, evaded opposing traffic by going off road, suffered night blindness from those non-dipper cars & Volvos, overtaken rashly from both sides with margin gap in inches, and so on...

Like I said, we have no choice but to adjust, or at the best, create awareness. I got this written on my black helmet - "Ride Safely, Use Helmet", in white letters ... Hope it creates a change, atleast to the literate guys out there.

As of today, this is all I (we?) can do.

Of course, I feel that. Now, we're like, so used to it! It's like a part of our biking lives...
Best way to avoid sweat, would be to open the transparent lid, to let some air in. Also, taking periodic breaks might help ...

Yesterday while returning back from the highway, I was riding in my lane at 80 kmph and a few lorries were coming from the opposite side. Suddenly a santro came into my lane to overtake those lorries and I had to brake hard(really hard) and swerve at the same time to avoid the accident. Even educated people do such things and put others lives into danger.

                +1 to that

I feel that the helmet is a part of my body and when I ride without it, I feel incomplete.

I totally agree on that adjusting bit. Though I am one of those non adjusting types. But it really does not serve any purpose. I am the one staring death in the face. Those dastardly roadways drivers and others like him do stand to lose anything other than maybe half a month's salary and he will go scot free.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Day before yesterday, me with my wife were descending down from the hills towards kiritpur sahib. Since the roads were good i took the corner at 50. On straightening up saw one truck(10kmph) being over taken by another one (12kmph). Flashed at them, but they simply didnt give any space.. Finally had to go off road and on the rocks had a minor fall. Luckily riding gears ensured that there was zero damage to me and my wife
Also, my wife is now more conscious about safety and is asking for the knee guard too to go with the jacket and gloves!!

Very tragic indeed. Many times I have seen two wheeler drivers coming to main road from the side rubble and getting derailed in the process. All these things come by experience and experience once gained should not be lost. And yes however hard stance we might be taking its still in our interest to adjust when the oncoming driver of a bus/truck in a really menacing mood. Remember guys we have a family and children/parents waiting at home and for them we need to reach home .. maybe late .. but its better then never.

The helmet feels so much a part of me whenever I'm on 2-wheels.. I feel incomplete without wearing one..
Though the law here requires a helmet to be worn compulsorily only by the rider, whenever I'm on the pillion seat, I so much want to wear one.. Maybe its the fear of falling without a helemt thats wanting me to do so, or maybe its the confidence that wearing a helmet gives me, not sure..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

I(pillion) was on my way from Mysore>Bangalore(around 1 week back) and somewhere near Channapatna an old man on a Chetak suddenly jumped the divider and didnt even check the road before crossing!!We were doing around 80 when this happened, luckily nothing untoward happened(other than the fact the we were pushed onto the semimud lane from the rightmost lane).

The worst ever experiences you can have is with the Tata Indica Cab Drivers.....they go like total maniacs!!!Anyone else hate them?

Yes that's true. On the highways, the RTC bus drivers overtake without even thinking twice and proper signaling, posing a danger to motorists. In the city, the auto drivers drive very rashly.

I do not wear lid if I am riding around my colony, where the speed limited to only 40 kmph. Apart from this, I wear helmet everywhere. In fact, I cannot ride without the visor closed even at nights. In all my trips, even at night I ride closing the visor.

I feel insecure without helmet and the same case with seat belt. I strap on seat belt as soon as I sit in the car.

May the souls of the deceased rest in peace.
