its weird isnt it?...they tell the media that by next year end they will launch max 125cc bike and now they go & show the gixxer in a full page ad as if they r gonna get these bikes!!!!
Suzuki seems to be going the way of Yamaha, showing the pic od an R1 and launching Fazer 125 ..

Anyways Suzuki bikes are a long way away for now and they will be simultaneously launch a scooter and a bike...

i too did notice the ad in TOI sports suppliment. i think this is similar to yamaha campaign. talk big and launch crap mopeds like fazer. the showed a gsx r and they will come up with a 150 cc 13 bhp bike, not more than that. when will these jap's realise they are ppl who want to buy and can buy sports bike.

its good news for bikers if all the factories launch big power bikes...whtat i think will be more importan will be an orientation session guided by an instructor, of the 600cc + bikes...like i say its one thing to ride these bikes whih neone can do,, but its also easy as hell to get ur self killed with the amount of power they put out if u dnt respect it ur not gonna survive very long..

ive heard of so many sad stories in Oz where the learners as soon as they get their full licence from a 250 ,, jump straight to a litre class sports bike... and get themselves killed the next day..

@ bikecrazy : Power without control is deadly.
@ Sksy_Biker : with due respect to your thoughts about the launch seems quite right besides even a 250 with 50 odd will do an appreciable job in indian market where its just growing like a Rocket everyday.

This is just to make grandfathers happy....
The moment they see the newspaper ad, they'll ask what that is to their grandchildren....
The grandchildren will say "Suzuki Bike"......
Then he'll think what the hell it is on the paper...

Dunno where i'm going...Dunno why i wrote that...

nature of performance & not mere economical commuters ...

i am sorry to spoil the fun guys but i dont think suzuki is going to launch a powerbike first. Be realistic guys. Of course they are gonna say "they are gonna revolutionise Indian biking industry blah blah..." but do u really think thats gonna happen? i dont think so. so my guess is that u can forget a powerbike for now.

well, suzuki here in ktm has two models currently. GN (cruiser) and EN (city). One thing to look out for is that the Suzuki bikes here come with alloys always, never spokes. Also the EN series have good looking bikes comparatively to the pulsar, coming with bikini fairing, engine guard, alloys, and two-piece handles by default. It has a 125cc engine and pumps out 12.5 bhp. The GN cruiser series come with 150cc and 250cc engines.

Well! any company will start off with 100 - 150 cc to build a base in the country then they will try their hands on the speed demons. Thye first study about the nature. They are not here for few adventure lovers. They are here for the general segment. They want to capture the market. No company works according to us. They have to follow their own set of rules and guidelines. They know that the major part of India' population can afford the economy segment bikes only. And when they think they have enough profit on hand then they head for our side.
                          Take care!

if any one jap company brings in a powerbike, both the others will be forced to bring in a powerbike just for image. so the market will explode...only a hope

by jap companies, u mean Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki rite?

None of these companies have a firm grip in the Indian biking market. So yes, its only a hope.
