BMW is one choice among the long trip hikers becoz of its low maintenance and absolute "no problem" way...!
and it is powerful also...some bikes still operate on shaft drive in BMW's arsenal. I guess naked bikes and those 650 cc raw bikes shall be more liked in India then tall Enduro or odd looking BMW superbikes.

Thats right reactor... plus BMW has a big reputation to take care of... just like Bentley, Mercedes, etc, They wont be caught dead coming out with a commuter for the Indian market... so whatever they come out with over here, provided its priced right, will be really good!

Called up Navneet motors in Thane today. They are the dealers for BMW cars in India.

The sales guy said that there are plans to get the bikes also as CBUs but it will take about 3 years to materialise !!!

He also added that they are going to be pretty steeply priced and will cater only to the uppermost segment.
            LIVE LIFE KING SIZE !!

here is on another piece of good news, if they can start with 250, 350cc bikes , man nothing like it, but larger capacity will still not be a good idea

anyway BMW bikes suck big time to me. They are so different from conventional bikes that they appear weird except few of sport-touring ones are real good but i am sure they will be way too expensive for me. No wonder there 650 bike failed in india.

ya right, they have indeed produced the worst looking bike in whole wide world. though k1200s[] is an exception.

...their sports toures & some motard versions r world class & preferred by riders all over the world, esp the shaft driven bikes....in quality, it is one of the best but yes, the quality comes at a price- as for looks, that is subjective but for me, radical looks r completely welcome...[:B]
With great power, comes great responsibility- to man, machine and especially to mother nature.
