I hope you understand, and are informed about, that lighter cars (or even the lightest on the grid) who are higher on the grid at the start, do manage better finishes a lot of times. It has to do with the choice of the right tyres at the right portions of the race, the pit-stop timings and definitely making good time at the starting few laps of the race when you DONT hit the traffic!
And Pole Antics? Dude, this goes in the records! I seriously hope you understand, rather than crib about everything Indian!

^^ FYI i aint a noob on F1. Been watchin it since the year Senna died so really dont be so hasty on getting sore.

I havent cribbed, I'm just stating the obvious. If they win the race, good on them. If they dont? Too bad. Either way i dont have anything for them or against them.

So keep your cribbing slant to yourself

What a fantastic race... Superb indeed..

Giancarlo Fisichella driving the Force India finished second.. wohoo... It was spectacular to watch as Raikonen in Ferrari finding it difficult to open gap between himself and the Force India. Amazing performance by Fisichella.. Too cool.. The circuit itself is one of THE BEST circuits.. Circuit de Spa Francorchamp.. 350kmph flat out straights and 310kmph corners.. Simply amazing..

Brave run at the end of the race by Barichello with smoked engine(eventually ending up into a Brawn Barbeque).. Thanx a lot to him as his car was displaying how aerodynamics work with the smoke being thrown high up in the air creating the downforce..

All in all a great day for Force India and Vijay Mallya.. Kudos..

A race lost indeed despite a brilliant run.....

Fisi managed Pole on Saturday...hmmm.... Quite an achievement for a team who didn't have many takers way back in 2007 when Spyker put it on sale. I thought he must be lighter! He was, but not that much.

                        The race:-
Race began . Kimi did exactly what I supposed him to do at La Source, the thing he did from 4th in 2008. He just had to repeat the 08 feat which he did comfortably just to jump start 4 men. Giancarlo was no slow man over the Eau Rouge but the crash at back end brought the Safety Car on. Race re-stared after few laps with the Finn closely watching the Force India. Kimi didn't miss the opportunity. Safety Car rules mean that he could not overtake the leader in the first corner (the La Source). He didn't. But there was no stopping after that. He kept his car just behind the leader's. To say in other words he was placing his car right at the sweet spot which would give him THE golden opportunity to overtake him at will.Near the Eau Rouge, Kimi came on to the gear box of Force India in a very casual manner, hit the KERS button and cruised away leaving Fisichella to eat up all the dust....
                        Job done!!

After that Fisichella kept Kimi within hunting limits, which proved he was nowhere slower that the red car. Apart from the tires in the first stint especially, both drivers were on the same strategies too. And Fisi just didn't allow Kimi to open the gap. With just 9 laps to go, difference between the two was .621 secs. To quote the TV commentator at that time, "Kimi has been trying 2 open the gap over that Force India, but so far he has failed to do so." Even at the post-race conference Fisi said, "We were more quick the Kimi. At the restart he came so close that he could use the KERS button to his advantage. This was the race we could have won."

Having followed Giancalro from his old days in Jordan and Benetton in late 90s when he somehow managed funds to get a seat at Jordan and took the podium in no time, and the recent Ranault days where he remained in the shadow of all-shining Fernando Alonso, I was quite moved when he took the pole in the qualifying on Saturday at Belgium. In the race too he didn't let Kimi rest inspite of conceding lead to the latter. He drove very beautifully apart from one mistake. That costed him victory. I fear that a dying career as of his will give him more chances like one he got in Spa this year. The capabilities and resources of his team are well known.

Anyways thanks a lot Fisi and congratulations from India for a feat well achieved...Time to celebrate
And I hope the good run continues!!

(Italians, and especially Montezemelo, are happy anyhow. A native car and a native driver at podium!! What more?? )

I think that if the initial crash had'nt happened and the safety car didnt come on, Force India could have been the winner as the car seemed to have all the power required to keep up with the Ferrari!

I heard Vijay Mallaya's interview confirming aerodynamic modifications and am surprised what those could do to a car.
