^^^ + 1. completely agree to ken.
If the cops get the fz it sure is a good thing.. at least they can have a well advanced set of wheels compared to the decade old Bullet many still ride.
The cost going into the customization of the bikes from DC is really huge and can be brought down upto 50%.. after all its our hard earned money going into taxes.

yes.. Fz is going to atleast make the scenario look good.. they will start looking more descent..
If thought about the speed.. then neither a p180 can catch up a fast car..!! we cannot just think about a cop chasing a bike, he has to also chase a car at times.. so he may not be able to even come closer to high end cars existing in our country, may it be any indian bike.

Cops use these so called bikes for only Patrol purpose at speeds of lesser than 40kmph....
They park thier bikes near the Signals and wait for things to happen to catch people without licence or proper documents - 90% of them will be only two wheelers - few cars will also be catched for if the rider hearing music or the car has lots of load.....

@ amandeep : I have not seen Mars...does that make me believe that there is no Mars ?? In Delhi, people esp young bikers with 150/180cc bikes (infact bigger ones like 200-220) now refrain from overtaking / speeding in the traffic because of the fear that atleast now they can be caught. This fear was missing a couple of years ago..why?? rusting bullets could have been the reason.

He means, just because you've never seen a police chasing another biker does not mean it never happened.
On a serious note. Chasing is not part of the police strategy in India unlike US or other countries. One cannot expect a mahindra jeep to chase cars running on the road today. So as some has suggested, it is mainly for patrolling. If someone has actually seen a chase, then that should be considered a very very rare incident. Cause in a city where I personally witness dozens of speed freaks daily breaking speed limits (me included but only on highway
) or cars or bikes zooming past, zigzagging down the expressway (I dont do this ever). I have never seen police give chase in my entire life. Forget cars and bikes. Two days ago, a autorickshaw just zoom past a redlight in front of me and a policeman with his bike besides him. The police gave a couple of blast not on his bike but on his whistle and stood there watching the rickhaw dissapear. If Chasing is part of their strategy, surely I should have witness a couple of them by now.
I'm all for police using the FZ as they'll be much better for their daily beat than the bullet. Also they will give a much needed bling to the scenery. Thankfully its not the ZMA. Oh I'm not concern about the speed. Its just that I don't want every cop, milkman etc on a ZMA
.

Oh Well, my friend's Honda City did get chased by this cop. Eventually my friend gave up realizing that he could get into worse trouble. He was fined heavily under several charges, lucky he was to not get imprisoned.
There are few spots in mumbai where you SHOULD STRICTLY avoid breaking rules. 1. being at the mith chowki (link road) in malad and 2. Times of India (highway) malad. There are couple of nutcase cops at these spots and if it was your unlucky day then they could be well on your ass.
But that said, I personally have witnessed bikers breaking the roadblocks and running away. And, the cops only simply informing on the wireless. I guess more than the bikes what cops need is the spirit of a cop which I guess cannot be bought, modified or be built.

Do not overspeed in Delhi esp when cops are around because you can be caught, if they tried...hope you get it now.
