I would agree with each little bit of it. I still own a 2002 classic 150, a 2005 DTSi UG2 150 and a 2009 220 DTSi and I can swear by the improvements Bajaj has done for all these years.
But still RVMs and fairing noise was not anyhing technical. They could have rectified them pretty easily, at least the absolutely non-functional RVMs...

Anyways you have ridden my bike and you must be aware of the fairing noises. And you might wonder that they have been rectified at least 2-3 times alongwith 1 time after logging official complaints to them...

Secondly, the news mentions a naked streetfigher and like payeng pointed out, vipin jumped the gun and missed the point again...

    Payeng just said it...

If they manage to do those projectors on a round or bikini headlamp, I would be one of the first ones to change to those...(obviously if they provide such provisions..)

Anyways good going Bajaj and somehow I feel Bajaj is cooking up an FI big bike pretty soon...!

Yes, I have noticed the same and to be honest, the vibes are there. But the problem is more with the PBK than the bike itself.
The mechanics are absolutely clueless most of the times when you approach them with a consistent problem. In reality, the truth is that many of the issues that you report are sent across to them by the company.
If you wanna see for yourself, just check the wall at Kothrud PBK, the moment you enter the service area (left). You will find R&D's solutions to common persistent issues.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

love the news..! just hope they dont just satisfy the need to loose weight by only removing the fairing..

          1. Strongly disagree, bike's build quality matters...
          2. PBKs are owned/partly by Bajaj and are flagship svc stations. Bajaj should ensure PBK mechs are upto date...
          3. Ok..
          4. Is this RnD solution present in all PBKs?

Yes, you are absolutely true. Belev me, I had a terrific time with Bajajs. My classic still is a treat to ride (just that for the past 2 years its hardly taken out). My dtsi ug2 150s engine is damn sweet till date. And my going for the fifth (2 scooters) Bajaj tells you about my faith, love and contentment for the company (more specifically ther products).
But ther is a big void between the products and ther service. I have been facing issues since the first product we had in our family. And that spans from my hometown and now to Pune which covers almost 6-7 service stations. Recently, I had lodged a formal complaint with Bajaj and frankly speaking ther response is pretty lukewarm......!

Fairing vibration was there in 220DTS-Fi (Although I solved mine) but whatever little experience I had on P220DTS-i I found that the vibes are very less but one problem that has continued is front fork lock getting loose when one rides on bad roads (Not sure whether a normal city rider faces the problem or not).
Contrary to your experience, I feel my bike (DTSi) has an aggravated vibration issue, But I agree that it could only be my bike...
BTW, what do you mean by front fork lock...?
            Can you please elaborate...?

It looks like everyone is so much involved in the naked version of 220 that no one noticed the part that Bajaj wont participate in the auto expo. What could be the reason behind it?So now Bajaj has opted to move in Yamaha's way offering both naked & faired version of similar bike. What type of design can we expect(would it be like the one shown by mark-wells & ian wride of xenophya that designs for other leading co.'s).It was also reported earlier they designed a 250cc bike for an indian manufacturer. Here is the link-http://www.fasterandfaster.net/2009/01/mark-wells-and-ian-wride-of-xenophya.html

While giving the bike for 3rd service on tuesday.. i told the PBK service inchage about the fairing vibrations, 8.5 hours later, they gave me back my bike, duly serviced with the fairing vibrations gone (alongwith all other issues i was facing). God knows what they did with it.. but god bless them.I own the P220 Dtsi.

if this goes as planned bajaj is actually applying a very good strategy where they will try to capture the current "naked buyers".so in turn yamaha then will have to think of bringing higher variant of its fazer.so good times may roll ahead.

Well I being an Yamaha owner(FZ & R15 both) want to say that Yamaha definately needs to bring the higher version of Fazer,at a reasonable price ofcourse.Yamaha has to understand that it has to price its product sensibly otherwise its not gonna work for them.I mean look at the price of Fazer it is same as P220 now but performance wise it is nowhere in the same league. In the same way if Bajaj prices its upcoming P220 naked version 3-4k less then it means approx 67k exshowroom nearing to FZ's 65k exshowroom & Yamaha would be just destroyed even after its products being technologically superior then the Bajaj's( read Monoshocks,41mm Front suspension,Fattest & Radial rear tyre, international looks, refinement etc).BAjaj has done its homework very very well in tackling the onslaught of the Yamaha. To be honest let me put it this way - Yamaha has itself put its strategy to capture premium segment in trouble by pricing its product way above the market & they have to act soon & try to bring higher CC FZ & Fazer @ approx 70-75k( ofcourse also decreasing its present 150cc variant price by 5-7k to match Pulsars price) otherwise all their effort will be in vain.Atleast give it a try to price the FZ similar to P150 then we will see kisme kitna hai dum till then there is no competetion since no matter how well your product is its not value for money(P220 vs Fazer).

Rs. 3-4K lesser and about 5-6 Kgs lighter would be just Perfect for the Street Fighter P220..!!

In that case it would be even perfectly ok if the Max. Power remains the same at the current 21 Ps.

That would be Off Topic.. lets stick to the Topic instead.

For Yamaha's strategy we can have a separate thread.
