guys,called up yamaha, the 2010 r1 is not on display on any showrooms,when they get the customers bike they will display it ,
also we might be getting the 09 model only ,first bikes will be delivered in jan-feb

The service centre and the Dealer from whom i got my bike also told me that there will be an option of the Rossi special edition pain job.. Still he can be wrong.

The 09-10 versions of R1 are equiped with D-Mode selector which enables you to use the bike as per the riding conditions.... you don't wanna bang of on the Indian roads.... simple, choose the appropriate map from A, B, C!! Basically it's a direct map between how much you give the Throttle and how much the Butterfly Valves open using YCCT!!

So, as compared to the previous R1s which were unleashing the raw power of the 180bhp monster every time you twist your wrist... with the newer version you have control over how much power you need as per the riding conditions.

But yeah, heat is still an issue for this monster but that's with any SBK we take out on Indian roads. But apart from that, it's the best liter class bike you can have on Indian roads...... it's for the Men amongst Boys (atleast for the 09 lot of liter class) and at the same time, it allows you to learn and adapt to itself using the D-Mode functionality.

All the more, the Cross-Plan Crank Shaft coupled with the Variable Firing order gives you an almost straight line Throttle plotting meaning, you can attack corners and come out of it with a confidence level that no other inline in it's class can give you!! It has the benefits of both the worlds, the Twins and the Inlines!!
