      Thanks Aryan,

Guys the idea of the pics was just to know your views about the bike to guage what you expect from the bigger RTR.... all I got was one view from Santoosh, and a few indirect suggestions on what you expected from the bike, and the rest followed by the assumptions, requests and threats...

      Carry on your 'valuable' discussion...

Don't get me wrong Satyen, if thats what you wanted perhaps you should have posted a complete picture of the bike and not teasers.
And regarding assumptions et al, you are forgetting that this is a RTR 220 thread...

        cheers

Well Satyen, No offence but thie above post of yours is what led to string of assumptions, speculations and what not.Instead you should have asked people about their expectations directly.

Those pics only added fuel to the 'rumour' fire!!

Still if you ask me i am expecting not just another Apache from TVS.Completely different bike/setup is what should cut the cake for me.

            +1 to Chicane's post.

Even though RTR is now well know and respected bike series, I would love to see new setup, looks, and some revolutionalry features included in new RTR flagship model. I don't think that if that bike looks totally different from current RTR then people won't notice it. I would love to see something fresh/novel. TVS should learn from Yamaha - how they gave 2 new models and both rocked the Indian market.

In fact they can jump to ***** RTR from Apache RTR if bike is totally new -- and that will still have relation between series.

            • If TVS is reading this, here is another opinion, get a new look for the bike, TVS Chicane look would be fine. Also get rid of the fiero engine platform and work on something new and better. The flame platform should be fine, a 3 valve twin sparky?

I believe the racing RTR's use a 3 valve head and are rocking the race tracks.

It's quite logical to speculate that if they can approach AVL for a 125cc then why not for a bigger platform!!

And they too are running with twin-sparkys.

what i am looking for in a bigger RTR?
Engine with lesser vibration & different chassis/suspension setup. I really don't care for the looks.

                  • talking about expectations i have many but i know most of it is not going to happen .

                    1. A bike which is giving a Big bike feel with semi fairing (not full fairing - lesser plastic parts ) with a descent look. (Looks are not that important though)

                    2. Producing around 23-24 Bhp and 24-25 NM torque with 220-250 cc.

                    3. Top speed True 140-150 km/ hour .

                    3. Projector Head lights (i am sure we are not goign to get this in any upcomign bike other than Bajaj bikes . Why???, i dont know )

                    4.Tubeless Tyres

5.Liquid cooled (radiator) for making full day high speed touring possible.

                    6. Engine over heat indicator , Oil level low Indicator , Battery low indicator .

                    7. Touring posture , vibration free ride .

                    8. Mileage 30-35 , Price on road below 1.5 L

                    9. FI (optional , if FI there more better )

                    10. Rear Mono shock

                    11. Analogue tacho and digital speedo

If such a relaible machine comes form Honda or RTR i will be delighted to see my next bike
i will love if such a thing comes from Honda or Yamaha but seeign the scenario i feel TVS will be the first one to launch bigger bike in market. i am waiting for such a bike for my next upgrade .

WHo told i need an RTR series ? i wanted such a bike from TVS .. thats all .. by the way Karizma has tourign posture and semi fairing and is a tourer. But I know what you meant ,as long as the RTR dna is there it will me meant for track na? but i belive TVS has to change the overall RTR frame for 250 cc else it wont be stabel at higer speeds 140-150.

WHo knows TVS may work on a new frame and coem up with an entirly new 250 cc which is givign a big bike feel and vibration free engine and more relaible than present one.

n i wish rtr 2xx has monoshock, handlebars a lil lower(like in sportbikes), rearset footpegs.

                          • I say that a 250cc single cylinder engine, with 4 valves & Fi, which should give around 24-25 bhp with torque spread all over the rev range. 6 Speed gearbox a must.

And Riding Position? IT SHOULD BE ADJUSTABLE...! Clip ons are adjustable already, now its the footpegs' turn.
Rear Suspension should be an adjustable Monoshock.

If you need all sorts of customers buying TVS' bikes, your bike should be able to meet all roles one throws at it --> commuting, inter-city touring as well as the occasional racing. With the due flexibility for each role.

A Half faired setup should be fine, with the rest of panels being the same as RTR 180, for the company's convenience that is.

In all, we need a better tourer than Karizma, a great commuter like RTR180, with more speed than the Pulsar 220, and with good handling, all in one single machine...
It's possible. And I believe TVS can manufacture and sell such a machine within the 1.2L price tag too. After all, my idea is just about a modern single cylinder bike.

I'd also love to have all the above from a bike, irrespective of brand... but then, its bad for their own business.... lets hope for the best..

                              • Do not want to see the RTR design again and again like Pulsar. I would like to see a fresh design from TVS with all new frame. I do not want to ask anything on the power front; TVS knows how to make the best out of the engine. A relaxed engine with fewer vibrations is the need of the time for those tourers (TVS cannot ignore it to get volumes).

And, I want better tyres too on it.
