I think the R1 has a saree gaurd.

7 Lakhs for a Suzuki Gladius is not something one can call affordable or VFM. If I were to spend 7 lakhs, I would do so on a Harley Davidson XL883 which will be the entry level product from HD India. That seems more value to me than a Gladius.

@bluevolt why would u choose over a gladius ? may i know how much bhp both these bikes have ?

                Just a question!

If anybody is paying 8lk and getting Gladius 645, then why will he not pay 10lk and get Ducati Monster 696.

I thought Ninja is brought in as CKD. Is that a CBU too?
How I wish some manufacturer comes forward with a supersport import through either route...

It's a 25% increase you're talking about. I know its a Ducati, but even a brand has its limits...

Coming to your question, if one has 10.07 Lacs for this, he might buy a CB 1000R itself, can't he? For extra Torque & Honda's name?

But yes, I stress that Gladius should be cheaper. At 8L, it won't shatter much records. CKD Import maybe, like Suzuki said in a 2-3 year old news?

Yamaha R1 sold in India has saree guard, check it with rossiter, it had both saree guard and number plate on front bubble. There is nothing like no saree guards for biggy bikes above 800cc. Companies have to meet the ARAI norms, they cant escape cheap.

yes, the R1 does have a saaree gaurd because they got the bike homologated, maybe the waiver for 800cc+ bikes had not come into effect. fireblade and busa does not have a saaree gaurd because no homologation was required.

I heard some rumors that it is going to get cheaper due to cut in excise duty. But will the minor difference make many more people go for it?

Then there is an exception in Ducati as their bikes doesn't have any saree guard. I didn't see the 696 as it wasnt there in the shooroom but others didnt have any nor they had any number plate inthe front bubble...

Lets just think about it this way - It isn't a supersport(quite obvious), netiher is it a naked bike or a streetfighter. Its regarded as a commuter bike everywhere. Suzuki must be out of their wits to bring in this bike. At 7-8 lakhs i see this as an excercise in futility. IMO only the less knowledgeable guys might go for it , if at all that is. I completely agree with bluevolt on going for an entry level HD rather than this. Is a much much much better bet IMO.
