A Particular Mahindra bike, in on the card for 2010 release.

Mahindra Two-wheeler is serious about launching a bike, but we wonder if it'll be a superbike

Almost about a month ago we told you folks that the 125cc Cevalo from SYM will not be making it to India under M&M. But it looks like M&M is gearing up to launch other bikes and are quite serious about it too. It's coming! U won't hv to wt long

Twitter Account of Sir Anand Mahindra: anand mahindra (anandmahindra) on Twitter

My Comments: Guys, I doubt it would be a superbike.
You see, in India people are quite confused about the use of "Superbike", etc. Even R15 is called a supersports, despite being just 1/4th of a 600cc engine.

As of now, just think of it as a sports bike, and no more information is available in concrete... It maybe 125 or a 150 too.

Remember that 125cc full faired red bike in Auto Expo? That might be it...

Defnitely not a litre-class bike. Simply because they don't have it, besides being not so lucrative.

I hope it is a affordable, reliable & fun 250cc. And I hope Mr. Anand Mahindra is kind enuf to offer employee discount

dont think the 125 54 bhp is gonna make it.. THough something along the lines would surely be welcome.. They have to look at the available engine options that they have, either with erstwhile hyosung partnership that kinetic had, or now cevalo. Though a fully faired 250 for 2 lakhs would surely be welcome.

if that 54 bhp makes to road expect a rebuild every 20k kms, high revving motors have low engine life .. compared to 11bhp 125cc engines.

A best example Honda nsr 150.

That 54 bhp machine won't make it to road directly. It might be possible that they make it road-suitable, at the cost of less sound, less revs, and lot of power loss.

I remember that there were some 125cc 2 stroke Fuel injected bikes abroad, that gave 15 bhp in road-restricted form, and on racetrack it could be extended to 32 bhp or so.
Their names were I think, Cagiva Mito & Raptor. When in road restricted form, they matched Euro 3.

Might be possible that Mahindra suceed in convincing RTO's about clean 2 strokes?
Otherwise, I'm thinking, why would they show a racing 2 stroke, to our country? I know its just a concept but maybe its not, who knows?

if u look up online, cevalo doesnt really have much options other than a 125cc engine for two wheelers, and 200,300 and 400cc for ATVs.

Hyosung on the other hand have a great line up with 250s and 650...

i dont know, but he might be talking about Comet GT250R ( If at all Hyosung tells M&M again to sell it ).. Its just a wild guess. There are speculation about it.. Who knows its true..

The Mini FZ in India ..... again?
I would really want M&M to come up with a bike which has fresh looks, especially considering its thier first one! That tag line of copy cats is easy to get, and hard to shed!
Can someone post the pics as attachments!

The two stroke might be the SP525, that Kinetic was assembling in 2007. I remember reading some where about an year ago that Kinetic was assembling some 600 cc bikes too. Couldnt find that now!
