all this is fine, what bunny and others said ???

but if the duties are lowered.. we should also revised the drivin license system, like in UK and other countries...
we have the same license for a 100 cc to 1000 cc .... this is totally crap

IF we get 600's at 2.5 -3 lakhs, then they are many like me who can afford these bikes, but hell.. most of the kids ownin them will kill themselves next day..

but i am sure that one day i will gift my child a honda hornet (-) the import duty.. till then the sufferin and slavery to bajaj and other bike mfg continues

all we can do is that:
1)do a rally on behalf of xbhp at ND
2)send e-mails to the President and PM
              here are their mail id's:
              The President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam[email protected]

He is very understanding and development oriented person.A man who dreams India will be a Super Power by 2020.
The Prime minister Dr.manmohan Singh. [email protected]
Ex RBI governor,he knows more abt financial matters and import duties than anyone else.

1)Points to be noted:Please send e-mails with subject as :Please Lower Import Duties on Imported Bikes from 250 CC onwards.
2)Don't send just one mail on behalf of XBHP, all active members should send mail, quoting their Id on xbhp as foot note.
              3)Please do at the earliest.
4)Also persuade all your friends, relatives etc to send mails with or without matter but stictly with the above said subject.

5)If you are typing your request in the mail, you should be using highly respective language(Try to be personal at some points-like you request your father no?)

Any way hope for the best and together WE CAN DO IT.

Sunny, expecting your views at this point.

you are right. If the license rules are not updated, anyone with money will buy one just to show off and will get himself killed on the first day itself.

Another challenge will be to avail finance to buy an SBK.coz already banks hesitate to finance more than 50,000 Rs for a bike, considering the resale value of the bike.I don't think everyone interested in SBK's will be able to shell out lakhs in an instant.

if we keep on praising ourselves,i don't think something can be done.
Its already Jan 28th and time is running out.
All of us know how many days are left for the union budget.
If you want to really do something, please do it fast.

Gusy the first thing we should think about even before the duty crap is are they really suitable for India, with the roads and cats, dogs and people jay walking on the road (even the express ways arent spared of them), the loose dirt on the streets, low quality of roads and the most important low quality but high priced fuel which many a times is adulterated no matter how much the company says "Pure for Sure". Shouldnt that be the first thing we should protest about rather than rallying to New Delhi and making a joke out of ourselves.
If BHP is power than I consider myself as GOD.
