    new motorcycle for India.
D Shinde, vice president, marketing, Mahindra Two-Wheelers -
We are currently working on launching a motorcycle from the Mahindra stable that can be expected to hit the market some time in March 2011. Our priority is to focus on that for now
The motorcycle market in India is expected to be around eight million vehicles a year and it makes business sense for Mahindra to enter this space. Mahindra is working with its Italian partner Engines Engineering and Taiwan-based company Sanyang Industry Company Ltd. for developing this two-wheeler which could be a commuter.
It was earlier reported that Mahindra is looking at bringing high-end motorcycles into IndiaBusiness Standard

      - worst plastic/fabric used
      - shockers are like they have been plummeted for 20yrs before fitting to it
      - my parents keep thinking that it doesn't fall apart while riding. Full body seems to be fragile.
To see the quality just set their RVMs and after riding for 100 meters it is off by at least 20-30 degrees by own and here, I am talking about a relatively new scoot bought in Dec end.
It could be little better for super luxurious roads which Indians are deprived of, but for any sub urban roads, it is too much to take care of.
I have read somewhere some really **good** words for rodeo too.

      Full review:

Ohh yeah, after sales is even worse. For last month I couldn't get them to understand that too soft shockers and really bad ground clearance is a genuine problem.

You would be a better person than me to comment upon the quality of Duro as you own it.
But, personally, I found the them Rodeo & Duro to be the most agile and responsive scooters in India. Leave the top end, low end and mid range is just fantastic.

Mahindra guys, be in your SUV department and try to make them good, you can't be BMW which makes exotics in both 2 and 4 wheelers.

      PS:
your scoots are no good too.
Energy & Adreno were pretty good bikes. As Riaz said, they were a little before time and did not have a good backup.
Their 110cc versions (FX) produced 9bhps at that time which have been equalled by Twister now.
      2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
      2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
      2006 - Eterno (sold)
      2008 - Dio (Owned)
      2009 - Pulsar 220 DTSi

Kinetic gifted the market some products way ahead of its own time,
        1.GF125,it had 4-valve tech.Made 12bhp being a 125cc,while classic P150 made 12bhp being a 150cc.Now people shouts about a Pulsar 135LS.....irony.
2.Laser and GF170 wid their 165cc engines, never knew what they performed like, but the Kinetic Blaze had its engine borrowed from them.Believe me Blaze had some performance even being a scooter.
3.Kinetic Comet.............250cc,27 bhp(restricted) V-twin,India saw something like that after a long time after RD350 and that too for only Rs.1,25,000.Nowadays, only a marginally ahead Ninja 250 boasts Rs.3,00,000
4.Kinetic Aquila cruiser..............for once Royal Enfield was compelled to revamp their products, with gearshift on the correct side and producing the Thunderbird, looking at it.
Kinetic sank for poor dealerships, and also a bit of ignorance towards the market.

This wont be repeated by M&M.
M&M wud play a more practical game.Scorpio was launched infront of my eyes and today its a mega hit.Ok M&M makes SUVs, so what, they wud do their thing again in two wheelers. How about very mordern 125cc 2Ts producing 250 shaming bhp, produced here in India.......a privilege that was for so long enjoyed in Europe only by the likes of Cagiva and KTM.For once more Euro has stricter emission parameters than BS.Then we will find Bajaj bringing something from their KTM household. So underestimating M&M wud be a fasle call.We just have to wait and appreciate. They need to do things differently than any other Indian manufacturers.

I however miss the Hyosung Comet 250cc bikes really, can someone pls bring them back here again.........the revamped Comet GT250R.
Come on M&M u r game,if u can bring scoots from SYM,why not a good 250 from Hyosung ????? The playground is urs, play the game.

        P.S.

hey man, you are genius........ then you'll say only Honda & Yamaha are the only two bike makers in India....... LML gone down because of the lack of their servicing....... I still remember the unavailability of shockers during my school days....... the servicing were real bad....... and at that time those bikes were real good....... being only 110cc, they were real good...... and never give up trying.......
and the comment on the scooter is not needed from my side........ you own it, you know better.......

Kinetic tried many good things....... their products were good....... but somehow they failed.......

M&M bring some good bikes....... and increase your service centres and improve servicing........

I too had HORRIBLE experience with Kinetic,
My kinetic nova which i had been riding before getting my bike was one of them
at the last of its life, its mileage had gone to 13-14 KMPL.
I couldn't even bunk my tuition's as it demanded a lot of money to take
that petrol drinking monster out for a roam while I bunked my tuition.
(that time no pocket money )

Kinetic(KH) once ruled with its Kinetic 4T.

Major problem with Kinetic was it provided power without reliability.
I still love the torque of my nova but the way it used to fail .......

Now M&M IF you don't play the cards right,(bring something different)
The Bajaj's, Honda's, Yamaha's and TVS are ready to dig a grave for your bikes.

similar with LML....... their service were pathetic.......even the basic parts were not available at that time....... had to rely on duplicate parts........ so was the case with Kinetic........ remember what happened with Comet.......... no spare parts......... Kinetic ruled with 4T........ till now people use them & use them in numbers........ you can see good no. of them on roads........
so providing just good product is not the criteria to be hit among the customers........ its the service which a customer wants and looks for........ if the service is good & the service centre guys are experiencd in solving the customers problem, the product will be hit......... no company has to bring rocket science........ but for M&M it'll be little tougher........ so M&M you have to provide good service, decent product for masses and really competing & challenging product to built your image as a serious player in the market........ otherwise rest of the companies are here to show you the path to your own grave.........

doesn't matter how good the products to be launched may be,it would be a waste cause the bike's name would be - MAHINDRA XXXXX
now common.. we know m&m have taken over kinetic, doesn't mean the should keep their name.. they must have given the 2 wheeler segment a new name and run it as a sister company of m&m.. cause as far as i remember, mahindra was famous for tractors bafore they came into 4 wheelers and also did good their as they were sellin big desiel engines in suv's.. can't imagine a fast mahinra bike...
RED BULL did'nt give me WINGS, my BIKE did !!
