I feel due to some useless bikers who do stunts on the fly overs others who follow discipline has to suffer.

The judge says that banning 2 wheelers is the only option, now in which way can the judge assure peoplethat 4 wheelers are not rashly driven on that roads.

Then will he ban 4 wheelers also and make a walking street.

On all major intracity toll roads in our country bikes are banned. There must be a very good reason for that. Such decisions are not taken at random. Just think about it.

Sad to see mumbai turning into a rich man's city, where only car owners are given priority, no bikers, no pedestrians, with a screwed up railway track that can come to halt at the sneeze of a child.

OT, but I am really sad to see Mumbai turning to this state, where a lot of people work like mules to keep a handful of rich ones happy.

why are bikes banned and cars allowed?....they say because bikers are rash drivers....does that mean when a "rash biker" drives a car he is a "good driver"? its not about car or bikes, rash drivers will always be rash drivers no matter wat they drive.

and by fighting the problem i meant the government should try and educate bikers like xbhp is doing. open schools for it.

A good example of a banned road is the mumbai-pune expressway. however, there is a section where the old pune highway shares the expressway. so how is it ok then for this part of the expressway to allow bikes? it's nothing but stupid biases and third-world mentality. and i've seen some really terrible drivers on these expressways. what do we do about them then? rash driving is ok for them just because they're in a car. this topic is getting annoying now with people from our own forum justifying the govt's stupidity.

i love the way u write man!....but its not exactly stupid. once u stop the disease from spreading u start curing it. but this curing part is missing in this case and that could be awareness campaign or something.

Then hopefully these judges will work full-time in clearing the 2.7+ crore pending cases

Our Govt system sucks big time...
Most of the policemen & traffic guys are corrupt.
Laws are not enforced, hence rash bikers as well as car drivers
break traffic rules thinking that they can get away with
a small bribe or by showing their pehchaan.
And the worst part is that the govt officials do such kind of things
                        on open roads.
Our country being one of the best in technologies are lacking behind
in upgrading systems in our home country, wherein people from our country are big engineers in other countries and that country is the one which is modest.
Our govt doesnt want to improve system in our own country due to dirty politics played in each and every field. Wherever a person tries to do good to the country nobody appreciates him, infact there will be many people (leaders or bosses) who will critise and will try and get him down.

Kindly dont take this comment as too personal. Jus sharing my views as i am totally frustrated with our govt.

I hope they never allow bikes on the entire Mumbai Pune e-way. Its the safest and fastest route to Mumbai and vice versa.Open it to bikes and it will become bonneville. And the only part where bikes are allowed is where they cant make two roads.

Is JJ flyover the same which ends at crawford market? bikes were not allowed even a month back

There is no strict rule and if there for fewer period. Cops are corrupted..

Strict rule, punishment and right education can only solve this problem..
Please use all possible safety measures while riding and remember others also riding on the same road...

They won't allow bikers on the expressway, because there is no money in it. And the expressway is dangerous enough already, with every tom and dick and harry trying to drive at highest speed already, without contribution from bikers.

While writing 'bikers', I mean not responsible riders, but college showboys with head full of attitude and without helmet. I have known a many in Mumbai and Pune. In a way, even though this is injustice, I can see why the judge must have come to this conclusion. The proportion of sane:idiots in any ride, be in bike, car, pedestrians. is far too one sided!

That is the way it works in 3rd world countries. The end result being of course to keep the 1st world countries happy!

Just because you are getting annoyed does not mean that you are right! Hitler was annoyed very often too. Remember what happened?

The easiest way for the government to minimize accidents and increase safety is to prevent bikes from going on to expressways. We have NO education whatsoever in riding/driving, no road/civic sense. How many helmet-less bike riders should die before they take this decision?

I am myself upset over the fact that on none of the intra-city expressways of Delhi am I allowed to ride my motorcycle. But then, it is for my own good. I do not want a dumb Honda Civic Cager driving me over the railing!
