Lolz! I see a lot of people getting over-enthusiastic....... dreaming of riding their bikes in there! I don't think they would allow anyone except for professional racers (read: Cars) having a track racing licence to drive in there. At the max we may get to see a premium race club being developed there...... but that too is a rare possibility considering the amount of money spent on maintainance and upkeep of such tracks!sigpic

have you seen chennai track they are allowing the riders holding only a driving licence.
i think in this track they will allow with a normal 2 wheeler licence..
yeah they will take a lots of entry fees, track fees, bla bla bla
nobody is over reacting..they are all just asking because of having biking enthusiasm.

and what do you reckon that some part of the money will come from? The first ever International standard track in India wont be deserted off season, no way. National Motorsport/Training/Ad and Film shooting/co-operate events will keep the track busy and one might have to book in advance to get inside for racing or leisure eventa.Originally posted by ankitshringi View PostLolz! anyways! face the truth! we won't get to RIDE in there..... driving might be a possibility but even that is a bleak chance for a common man..... u need to have a racer's licence to race in there on four wheels.
And as far as chennai track is concerned.... IMO it is not a govt. owned property..... u are allowed to hold such racedays on private tracks...... on govt. properties its a lot of redtape before you are able to do such things.
For the sponsorship part..... everyone knows that F1 is not such a popular sport in the subcontinent (even MS Gill said that ministry doesn't accept F1 as a sport). So they have their sponsors figured out.... mostly catering to the audience who watch F1.
I could be wrong in a couple of places but as a civil engineer (working in a PSU), believe me, i know it is a nightmare maintaining tracks at par with International standards. It sure costs a LOT.sigpic

This track is indeed private Property JP is developing this Govt has washed its hand off earlier itself when there was a issue with the budgeting.
Now MS Gill what can i say they are Piece of idiots. And the Whole Track is being Maintained by Jaypee Group. The Only thing they needed was a permission which they got in the start except that nothing that Govt has to do with it. The Ticket of VIP lounges are going to priced around 500 USD as far as i know.
The govt washed its hand off because there was disagreement and Vijay Malaya was the one who sorted it out as far i know.
With Force India going gr8 guns with Finishing in All the races except one in Points table it is good.
According to some people when the Track is not being used it will be used for Feeder Series of Formula 1 that is GP2 racing also.
Overall it will be great and 1.2lakh seat capacity will be filled For sure easily.
Edit: Regarding MotoGp tracks being different no they don't need to be different but There are only couple of Races that are held in same Tracks like the Circuit Catalunya(Spain),Indianapolis(Not Anymore used by F1), So F1 Tracks are used but not much they have different tracks for MotoGP but few Tracks are commonLast edited by adi231189; 05-14-2010, 03:44 PM.
