Since Chicago was used as Gotham City, and the entire cast and crew came for the premier along with the Tumbler and Bat Pod, and some how with some constellations alignment helping me out, I was there at the premier, so I got a glimpse and some small insight of the real deal!!

As far as I know about the Bat Pod engine -

Instead of a singly constructed unit, that Pod had engines located in the hubs of the wheels in order to create more room for the heavy armor required in the bike.

In order to keep the weight manageable, instead of the IC engine, both the engines were basically electric motor, which acted as breaks too!!

Well as I said in the begining too... I might be wrong and might be needing some education over here
csajal: Mann! you are one lucky being to have been to the TDK premiere, I soo wished i could be there but alas!

Anyway back to your batpod info, well tell you what Warner brothers cleverly marketed the pod gimmicking that the engine is within the hubs of the wheels. So much so that they fitted dummy rotors( for shows and premieres) to keep the real thing at bay, and if you by chance have the TDK special edition dvd, all details(not all!!) are leaked in there. The engine is in fact in the middle portion, and the radiator cleverly tucked between the 2 legs position behind. Mr. Bale was also quoted doing another gimmick that the pod is infact a MV Agusta!! that sent the media tizzy thinking that the pod has the MV's inline liter engine..So much so to keep the excitement leading up to TDK then!

since now they are giving the 650cc engine, not bad at all. That thing will take off like some.

Hell WB tricked me Bad WB!!

I think Mr. Bale got stung by the Augusta beauty, which he used in one of the sequences in the movie.... every thing else after might have seem Augustafied for him

Even though I have the DVD (not the special edition one!!), I've individually cut the portions of the Bat Pod and Joker on my hand held!! Just love watching them over and over again!!

LOL.if I would have that kinda money in real than would have just mounted it on the terrace of my house --only for pojer value

ps:the official batsuit (50k ) & the batpod (50L) would make a super duper combo
