Don't assume wildly. Think logically.Originally posted by madhav krishna View Postok what i said was an assumption if the R125 would be launched in india.
Unless the R125 is manufactured in India and exported to Europe (like the Honda CBF Stunner PGM-Fi), it can never come to India at <90K.
If one fine day Yamaha India decides to manufacture the R125 in India and export to Europe.. like Honda makes the CBR125R for Europe and the CBR150R for Thailand (Both bike manufactured in Thailand. Exactly same bikes but with slightly different engine capacities), only then we will get a bike made like for the European market.
And the KTM bikes made in India will be just that. i.e Made like the bikes for Europe, and that's why the premium price tag.

well i would like to make a change in my post. Actually i didnt heardOriginally posted by payeng View PostTrust me, it's all Bindass Bakwass Rumors..
for the umpteenth time, "the R125 is NOT coming to India"
Every small component will be made keeping in mind the demanding European customer in mind. Be it the Fuel Injection, upside down forks, branded alloy wheels and even branded handlebars.
Exactly the same reason why the R125 CANNOT ever come to India, since its "expensive" parts will never let it be priced <90K as you has "Heard".
but i read it from a lot of sites about the R125 expected to be launched. The R15 is a predeccessor of the R125. Hence the R125 should be cheaper than the R15 since the R15 is more advanced & the cc of R125 is also less. The price of an R15 is 1,10000 or something like that. So the R125 can be of around 90,000 & according to me its totally logical because it would be a kind of cannibalism if it would launch the R125 at a higher cost than that of R15 because everyone would prefer the R15 instead of R125.
Once upon a time we thought that the KTM would not be launching any bike in india , but now we have it being launched soon & neither we expected the R15 but we have it now. So we can never say that the bike would not be launched because i think there is enough competition for the yamaha to force it to come out with another performance oriented bike.
Ok now i think we are diverting from the topic. So no more fiction about R125.
NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

yamaha can sell a 125 for a lac , ktm wont. why ? its an unknown brand in india . If this is a brand building exercise , then a little lower price tag will definitely help.sigpicThe Moto Cafe - India's first bike theme cafe @ Chandni Chowk

Yes and most of those sites will be those Bakwass Blogs (I have a blog too.. maybe I should have written something similar too)..Originally posted by madhav krishna View Postwell i would like to make a change in my post. Actually i didnt heard

Nope the R125 existed in Europe before the R15 made its India debut.Originally posted by madhav krishna View PostThe R15 is a predeccessor of the R125.
By the way, the R15 is the Indian version of the Indonesian Vixion, with 2 more Ps power, 1 extra gear, a Full fairing and a digital display. The initial engines of the R15 even came with a sticker which read "Made in Indonesia".
Yep and that's why the R125 will never come to India.. at least in its European Avatar.Hence the R125 should be cheaper than the R15 since the R15 is more advanced & the cc of R125 is also less. Sensible point.. branding will be a key issue. For the aam janata, KTM would be virtually an unknown brand.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View Postyamaha can sell a 125 for a lac , ktm wont. why ? its an unknown brand in india . This is a big risk. Bajaj is trying to open up the off-road segment in India. It had one offroader in the past. But that never succeeded.
In case of offroad bikes, 125cc is considered quite ok. I think this bike is more towards the supermoto category. Lets see what happens. But Kiska had shown some more bike sketches before. Lets hope we get to see big streetbikes from them![KTM-Bajaj]

^ I don't think it was always meant to be a streetbike. If you can recall the three released sketches, they were all off road based.
If this is an out and out streetike, then NO, definitely not an appealing bike!
A supermoto is an off road based bike which has more street character.Last edited by nitrosatya; 06-25-2010, 11:49 PM.
