Very disappointed after seeing the new Street 750..

It really looks like a cheap H-D imitation, I didn't expect it to be so underwhelming. Even though it's priced at 4.1L, I would gladly pay 6L for Triumph Bonneville, it looks better built and the engine is so sweet..

I found this on the set of pics...can any one tell me which is this one. Is it fat boy..??

coming to the HD street 750..it looks like cafe racer..and the white looks good. I will like RE to get something like this on our roads with Vtwin..though 350/500 cc is also fine...what say.

Re: AE14: Harley Davidson Street 750 Launched at 4.1 Lakh Ex Showroom

I don't find the MRF tyres to be deal breaker , we all were expecting a 4.5lakh showroom price and the 40k surprise is worth the not so significant downgrade on tyres. However I find it hard to believe this is a quality product. Their 7lakh+ motors still suffer from stone age issues like leaking head gaskets so how can that same company suddenly roll out working motor(taking in account the slight issues every new motor has) is something that can't be answered until the bike has spent a year or two on road.

For the price , i would say it is a good product ON PAPER. I mean what other options do we have ? a 500cc cafe racer costs 2 lakhs , a hyosung 250cc immitation costs 2.5lakhs , a 300c p-twin costs 4lakhs(ninja though quality unlike rest is top notch) so based on that I would say the 4.6-5lakh(on road) for the harley is acceptable(not desirable , desirable is always lower ) . I'm more worried about the 'manufactured in haryana' part of the deal.

On the looks , I will call it a sports cruiser . Overall I like it , but not the execution - gap between radiator and frame , wires near the T-tree don't look neat or premium at all. The radiator will be a major service headache as well just like their protruding "in the face" air filters which get clogged fast.

Another dissapointing thing is the stock bike will be too cramped for anyone above 5,8 height. I guess longer folks like me can opt for forward controls but harley will clearly charge a premium. Also only stock paintjob available is black , anything else will definitely set you back by an enormous amount.

Street - 750 , new information including on-road and mileage

I called up 4 dealership today regarding the street 750 since i'm seriously interested and wanted to gather some info. So here it goes , all on-road prices inclusive of insurance -

                  DELHI-
                  on-road - 4.57 lakh , mileage 25kmpl(city).

                  KOLKATA-
                  on-road- 4.82 lakhs , mileage - 15 city ,20+ highway

                  BANGALORE-
                  on-road - 4.99 lakhs , mileage - 15 city , 20 highway

                  CHANDIGARH
                  on-road - 4.4 lakhs , mileage - 15-20 city , 20+ highway

colours available (stock ) - matte black , gloss black , gloss red( black chassis).

Booking starts from march 1st , display bike from march 1st but test ride is april 2nd week EARLIEST in all showrooms. Delivery time - 2-3 months.

On asking why mileage figure is same as the 883cc sportster motor , they failed to give a convicing answer. On asking whether the street 750 performance is comparable to Iron , they again failed to give a response .

The 883cc evolution motor redlines at 5,500rpm and uses pushrods to actuate valves. Has forked conrod design which is pre WW 2 tech .

The 750cc revolution-x motor is engineered similar to the v-rod motor with overhead cam(one per head actuating 4 valves) , is liquid cooled and revs significantly higher -8000 rpm (v-rod redlines at 9000rpm) , has better crankshaft/conrod design so it is a mystery how (as per reports ) the revo-x motor mated to a 6 speed transmisson(iron is 5 speed) and driving a lighter motorcycle is inferior to the Iron in performance as well as fuel economy :O
