  • 2016 Hyosung GT650R Unveiled at EICMA 2015

The 2016 Hyosung GT650R was unveiled at EICMA 2015, it is an updated version of the previous iteration of the Hyosung GT650R. Visually the motorcycle looks very different from the outgoing model. Hyosung also unveiled the GD450, Aquila GV300 and GT300 at EICMA 2015.

The fully faired GT650R has seen decent sales in India thanks to it's Big Bike looks! The new bike is immediately different as you see the front, with its twin headlamp assemble as compared to the vertical stacked headlamp from the earlier model. Further on the fuel tank is also a new design, getting a smaller, sleeker shape, though this probably has reduced fuel capacity and therefore range we assume.

The bike retains the split seats which look more comfortable, though we need to ride it before we can make any definitive statement about it. The exhaust is the same huge end can, but brakes are now petal discs. The 647cc, 90 degree V-twin produces 74.4Ps and 54.5Nm of power and torque respectively.

Does it come with ABS now ? I personally not liking the headlight design. Its looking too busy for me.

Damn! The old model was such a beautiful bike but they spoiled the looks completely with this new model. This is nowhere as good looking as the older one. Whatever sales they were able to manage were mainly because of the good looks and even that's gone now.

the bike will look way better in the flesh for sure.

these pictures have been taken at really bad angles.

there are very particular ways to shoot a motorocycle.

having seen proper pictures of the GTR650 elswhere on the internet...

in profile... it looks a lot like a 2002 Yamaha R1.

personally, i preffered the older one headlight design.

this new design is very un-hyosung.

OMG..!! what a horrible design, looking like a blown up ZMR....or something like that.

old bike was such a good looking well proportioned bike.

          Please hyosung, don't launch it.

xionite is right. This bike does look far better in the flesh than in the photographs. And i prefer this model compared to the older one. The older one was far too bulky and overweight for my liking. This looks much sleeker and contemporary.
