  • Day 25 to 28: Chennai & Vijaywada

The first two days at Chennai was spent catching up on lost sleep and work and of course enjoying the food. The amazing food of Chennai, the Appams, Dosas, Idlis, Dindugul Biryani, fried fish, fish curry and a lot more. Everything that a foodie could want, vegetarian, meat, seafood, and the best part is the simplicity of the people fo Chennai. It is the small big city, where people though living in a metro city, still live in as simple a manner as most semi-urban areas, a fantastic experience.

The two days of the team was spent catching up with xBhpians from the city, the most notable of them being PS Raghavan sir. It was an honour to meet him. His youthfulness at his age is inspiring and at the same time a slap in the face of the lazy teenager! A roadtrip is not just about riding on fast motorcycles, it involves a lot of work off the saddle. From arranging meets, to coordinating with members, to managing everyday work, it is an office on the move. For the majority of the time, the hotel is actually considered the office. You are forever on holiday at the same time as always being at work. And Chennai became a hot spot for catching up on a lot of lost time.

But all work and no play makes the GICR Team very dull!!! So we went around exploring the city in search of something other than good food. And we saw the sun rise on the majestic Kapaleeswarar Temple as we tried to click to our heart's content. But the sun rises only once in the day and we missed it at the Marina Beach. The not so beachlike beach of Chennai makes for interesting sight. As you will find more Chinese Fried Rice Counters than Dosa Counters there! We visited the Vivekananda House, a war memorial for the soldiers who lost their lives since the first world war till date and enjoyed clicking with the waterproof Samsung Galaxy S5 at Marina Beach!

    Good Pictures and Narrative.

It was Good of all the Xbhp Touring members to spare some time for me .

It was a Refreshing Experience to meet OF Sir , Super Moderators and other members. esp., OF Sir who was kind enough to share so many Technical
information and spent the Good part of a day patiently, with me.

I draw my energy and sense of humor from young and well meaning friends around me and Mr.Avinash (Old Monk) is one of them ( hope I could be as energetic as you..).

I saw first hand how the whole "Traveling Office " of Xbhp functioned flawlessly..

My heartfelt thanks to the Group for their time and kindness.

My Good Wishes to the Group for an incident free Ride .

Re: Day 25 to 28: Chennai & Vijaywada

On Saturday Morning, we got a chance to ride with the Chennai xBhp Chapter and Roaring Riders. Sriram and Karthik rode down to our hotel to take us to the meeting point, where we were scheduled to meet up with the rest of the Chennai xBhpians and the Roaring Riders, a group of Jawa and Yezdi enthusiasts started by Srini Kashyap. The GICR team was late as usual, but the waiting bikers were very patient and gave us a warm welcome.

After a brief chit chat session there, we left for Vijaywada with around 20-30 xBhpians accompanying us for around 50 km on the NH5 till Cafe Coffee Day. There we had breakfast together, with everybody taking the other person's order, adding to a lot of confusion and leaving the poor waiter terribly confused! After spending some good biker quality time there, we left for Vijaywada, where Sandeep Patnala was waiting to receive the team at the the city border. The first thing that he did was to take the GICR team to a restaurant called Idly and Idly and gave them Idlys to eat! After a fantastic meal the team reached the hotel which was situated at the banks of the Krishna River, a lovely view from the hotel room.

If it rains crazy in Kolkata, there will be high chance of water logging. Be careful team.
