Yamaha finally launched the much awaited YZF R1 at Italian motorcycle expo. The 2015 version of the bike is 'All New' and sports a new crossplane motor called the CP4 engine. This new motor produces 200 hp according to the company. This immense power is achieved by 10.5 litre airbox, titanium exhaust, and fracture split con-rods. Following in the footsteps of other global manufacturers this bike has a host of new electronics in the form of traction control, slide control, launch control, wheel-lift control, and ABS. The bike also has the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to coordinate the plethora of electronics on.
For weight reduction, the R1 has magnesium wheels and rear sub frame. Headlights are now LED and one can even communicate with the bike!!! The R1 gets the Communication Control Unit (CCU) as optional which allows the rider to download GPS data and upload rider settings!
Valentino Rossi, Yamaha MotoGP Rider rode the new R1 onto the stage and spoke about the strengths of the new motorcycle.
