Energica showcased its Electric Superbike the Ego at EICMA 2014.
The Energica Motor Company was formed as recently as August 2014 and the Ego was the first Superbike from its stables. Production for the bike is also expected to begin soon. Energica Ego can reach a top speed of 240 km/h and is equipped with a PMAC synchronous motor with permanent magnets and with a power of 100Kw oil cooled and a torque of 195 Nm from 0 rpm to 4700 rpm. The bike does 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds.
The batteries can be recharged within 3.5 hours in AC Charge or in less than 30 minutes in DC Charge. The battery has a nominal capacity of 11.7 kWh. The braking system is by Brembo and the ABS system is by Bosch. Energica Ego will be the first electric motorcycle in the world with ABS System.
Energica Ego is also equipped with a Vehicle Control Unit and an innovative multi-map system for energy management. The control unit manages the regenerating braking system in conjunction with the ABS system.
Energica Ego is already on sales in 2 colors, Matte Pearl White and Matte Black, and in its luxury numbered edition, Energica Ego 45
