If Octane Boosters were the answer to all the low octane fuels then people would have mixed it with ethanol and have used it instead of expensive petrol!

Just think about it logically, you are putting something extra in your tank... now be it anything, any tom dick harry compound/chemical, the fact is, its something thick and slimy going into your superbike's tank !! I wont do any such thing unless its tried/tested and recommended by NASA.
India being India, we can never tell which fuel is adulterated.. best is stick to fuel pumps you trust and say Om Namah Shivay !
          Exactly!!!!! Om Namah Shivay !

I am highly frustrated regarding the unavailability of octane 97 fuel in any of near by locations..could anybody suggest me any nearest octane 97 fuel pump??

i have big tankers with me,can a provision be made that we can fill the tank from neighbouring state/city and transport to our place.and we can fill whenever required..

              please advise..

Yup.........and the best among them is Ethanol.

It is a recommended octane booster of many OEMs.

                Some fascinating facts are :
The US now uses more than 15 billion gallons of cleaner, ethanol-blended petrol a year, totalling 12% of fuel sales in the US. Most of it is a 10% blend, but 85% and even 95% blends are now being tested.

Ethanol blends are increasingly used in South Africa, while Brazil, the world leader, produces four billion gallons of ethanol a year: all Brazilian fuel contains ethanol, much of it 100% ethanol (engines can be designed to run on 100% ethanol).

Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors all recommend ethanol fuels, and nearly every car manufacturer in the world approves ethanol blends in their warranty coverage.

Over two trillion miles have been driven on ethanol-blended fuels since 1980.And these includes the miles of Veyron, Red Victor at times.

Even the Rolls Royce Ghost rolls on unleaded 91 well, but that would be for its low compression ratio.

However for likes of R8 and Gallardo there is always dependency on Octane boosting for smoothening things.

After all, as Old Fox says, riding habits makes a lot of difference when there is a shortage of cleaner and good fuel, even my bike agrees with that.

Ethanol blended Petrol with same or higher Octane rating is not preferred due to the moisture absorbing nature due to the presence of Ethanol.....The Ethanol blended petrol actually losses the Octane rating one or two weeks as it keeps absorbing moisture.....

Gasoline Octane and E10 Ethanol Blend Fuels

The moisture can also lead to rusting inside engine & Petrol tank, less FE etc.

Test fuel for ethanol to protect engines from contaminated E10 gasoline

Okay I take that Ethanol as Octane Booster is a Government favored scam in the US of A and it has been perpetuated by manufacturers to earn commision and drive biz high from sale of new engine parts or cars when the ethanol poisoned vehicle dies.

But that doesn't mean Octane Booster is not there..........if not Ethanol, then Toluene........what say about it ??????
