Great to see that you have invested in quality riding gear. Are those AXO riding boots?

btw, do I see a Harley in the background in the 1st pic?
Hey, no probs. I think Honda is doing a great job, and have no qualms about praising them. They have opened 2 dedicated big bike showroom/service centers called Wing World in Mumbai and Delhi. I have visited the shop in Mumbai, and it is a very good center with all facilities including a steam cleaner!! Heard they will be opening one in Blore soon as well.

Like I mentioned before, Safety is No.1 for me. What's the point in investing lakhs of rupees on bikes if you dont get quality gear to go with it? Unlike many macho guys out there, my skin and tarmac dont seem to mix very well

In the first pic, I am wearing Alpinestars SMX-2 vented boots. Not very impressed by them. Dont hold the shape very well, and scuffs very easily. I got a pair of Puma Desmo GTX boots (last pic), and they are simply awesome. Very comfortable, excellent feel, super durable, and waterproof. The TPU shifter pads still look like new, comes with extra zinc sliders for track days, overall an excellent buy.

Yeah, Good eye. OR you might have read my first post

It's a XL1200 N Nightster, but with quite a bit of customization done.

Thats fantastic to hear about Honda showing keen interest in serving their customers well.
I share a similiar opinion on riding gear, & wear them religiously even on my daily commute to office (32 km of intra-city riding). It gets a bit hot with riding gear in traffic, but HECK, blood is precious than sweat.

I figured out after my post that it was the A* SMX-2, short boots.
These go well with the bike, but the Pumas go well with your overall riding gear, & are definitely more functional being full length boots.

I personally wear SIDI Vertigo boots, & being full length boots, they offer fantastic comfort & safety. Nothing like full-length riding boots.

Thanks! I'm not too familiar with the HD range (they never enthused me ), but could make out fromt he pic it was a Harley.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Congrats Gthang and thanks for sharing the experience.
Have come across few Bandit owners here and was waiting to see the CB1000R (I mean the non-supersport crowd). Guess you are the first one with the CB. Your HD Sporty also looks nice.

The CB looks great in white. Ride safe & wish you an enjoyable ownership.

(Also heard of another HD import in CBE owned by a guy who works on a oil rig)

Congratulations Gthang, its a lovely bike and one of my favorites. Gthang if I have any doubts about the bike can I ask you coz you're the only one right now who owns the Honda CB1000R on xBhp.

Hey Haroon, thanks for the comments.

Loved your travelogues, and one of the motivational factors in me joining this forum.

                Sending you a PM.

Hey there Aargee, I was going to write about the Nightster as well, but thought I would start with the CB, as it was bought here, and thought might help potential buyers.

Will start on the Nightster, as soon as I get over my laziness

Hey kingzeeshan, thanks for the compliments.

I will be more than happy to answer any or all questions you might have to the best of my ability

It's a great bike for Indian conditions and wish there were more of them around.

I am hoping to get my rear hugger in a week or 2, and will post some pics with it on. Cant wait to get my hands on it.

Congratulations Dude for the ride. Just a question. Did you also consider FZ1 at the time of finalising on CB1000R? If so, what made you go for the Hornet? I mean the thought process.

When I bought my bike, the FZ1 was not in the market yet. If I were to buy today, the choice would be a little harder. I like the slightly more aggressive look of the FZ, but after reading a lot of online reviews, and a comment from someone who used to own one in the UK, the CB is supposed to be slightly more refined, and with a more usable powerband. The FZ1 has higher hp rating, but at a higher range. The CB fueling also supposed to be better. But these reviews are mostly practical for developed country roads and their type of usage. For India, they both rock in my opinion. I wouldn't mind getting an FZ1 to go along with the CB because I just love the way they both look

I hear you, man. Slice through traffic like a hot knife through butter. Enjoy your FZ1, bro.

                            Gthang,congrats on your 1000r.

I think i may have spotted you at the bridgestone dealership at Palakkad.I was there to get new tyres for my swift when i saw this white honda 1000r.I clicked this in November last year.I guess you were filling in air/nitrogen at that time.

read through the entire thread...im not a fan of naked bikes nor short exhausts but great buy indeed!loved the colour too.
nice to hear service provided is good.with the never ending delays for delivery of my cbr 250r,i was slowly loosing faith in honda, but guess i should give them point for service.never had complaints with honda bikes till now.so opted for cbr...guess the wait is worth it.
from the photos it seems like you really got a royal treatment at the local dealership aswell...!kudos!
and congratulations on the nightster too.

                              cheers.
