One of the biggest reasons the japs are making their bikes smaller and slimmer is because like this the bike is easier to handle for an even larger number of people (including myself) as I have an average height and built.

Personally, I would say it's a really good move for obvious reason and yes, another big reason to make motorcycles smaller and slimmer is to save weight which is one of the primary characteristic of a supersport motorcycle. Because look at Hayabusa and ZX14r, these bikes are no way small, these are big!

So I guess, since every class of bike has a specific purpose and hence its right for the manufacturers to make supersports as small and slim as practically possible, so that it caters to all kinds of people....big, medium and small

making a liscence in saudi is a real pain not cause its tough but cause of the regulations
the most important being fingerprinting for whic u need ur sponser or his rep with u which takes eons to happen. man it took me 3 months to make it and another pain they dont provide the bikes u have to bring ur own.

@Augusta: right, but then, I guess manufacturers know best where and what to do in their motorcycles Because see, no matter how many people around the world might hate the latest looks of CB1000RR but then its a fact that currently its the best out there!

To all the guys here who say the new Blade is ugly: You have to see it in the flesh. I was a hater but after seeing my mate's I have jumped to the other side. It's the most beautiful Jap litre sports bike available IMO.

Next on my list is the Ninja, looks stunning. The R1 and GSX-R look old and tired.

If I was a sports bike kinda guy I would've gotten the blade in a flash. I may even now get one as a second bike (torn between this, the cb1000r and the S3), for stunting and general all round hooliganism ;-)

i guess u didnt read the above . do tell which city u will be visiting and for how long.

i have seen the blade up and close in fact a few months before i decided on the kawa i was almost going to buy the blade cause i was getting a leasing scheme for the bike which would have costed me 10grand more in the end. after thinking about it i left it. one of the factors was the looks which didnt really pull me towards the bike. looks bad seriously

i would aggree . new blades look and feel great between your legs and in person. as for lust, what some people like others might hate.

although form is important with these bikes , it generally follows function.

the exausts is what people have issues with. they are getting bigger due to the emissions restrictions. nothing an aftermarket pipe dosent fix.

kar1zma, the blade grows on you.

CSGup1; the exhaust is the most appealing part of it. Under seats are so old now and and the Busa styled ones look fugly.

There are a couple of nice low slung aftermarket ones available for the 08 Blade now.

Having said all this, the 08 ninja is a beast too. I picked up the latest issue of Fastbikes from singapore last week, in it was a showdown between the 4 litre jap bikes. Stock blade but modded ninja, gixxer and r1. The blade was the best overall but the ninja with a leo vince (if I'm not mistaken) got no. 1 due to its character. I'll bring the mag to office tomorrow and post some more comments from it. BTW, I hate those Ninja exhausts, otherwise the bike looks fan-bloody-tastic.

EDIT: But my MT kills em all :-) LOL

The Blade should be amazing. In the Master Bike contest which is the most prestigious award for a sportbike, they say "Good that its not beautiful else the Blade would be perfect!". And yes, it wins hands down!

What a wonderful bike this should be to ride

EDIT: I personally do not find it ugly.

the silencers are the weakest part of the bike

i need to get aftermarket ones will be a few months though
