      I used to own a 08 600RR, had a demo ride on the Daytona 675 and the R6 (which made me buy the 600RR).

      There are two issues I had with the 675. One was the seat height. I am 5 foot 6 and I thought it rode a little higher than the 600RR (or the R6). But the bigger issue I had with the 675 was the lack of a stock ELECTRONIC steering dampener. IMO, the mechanical ones don't work as well as the electronic ones. Way too many tank slappers for my taste. Finally, the 600RR featured the most comfortable riding position (for my height).

      Besides that, between the 675, the 600RR and the R6, it boils down to personal preference.

      Good luck and ride safe.

        Comfort wise the 600RR would be much better compared to the Daytona or R6. But I think you will adjust over time on any of these bikes. Remember, bike ergos are different for different people. All comes down to personal preference and what moves your heart.

          Sure.. will do it ... but ... if you had anything more relevant to add for the topic that would have been helpful.

          thanks a ton for the apt replies for the query. Yeah, the Hondas might be more comfortable as far as riding ethics goes but I have read people telling that 675, having a narrower frame then the other two is more agile and precise handler.
          Also, the inline 3 of 675 provides a more flat torque curve all up to the top of the chart unlike the other two where it peaks and drop down later.
          So what I understood by it is that 675 has more better torque throughout the range then the other two.

          Dont knw but the people like you could be the better ones to answer any such difference, if any.

          And to add, 675 might be a distant offering as of now but the Hondas or Yamahas are still a far cry as far as India is concerned. They havent put any plans to bring them to our soil as of now. Hence, there is an instant excitement and interest 675 has generated.

            Correct, but remember the agility and precision comes with a price - the 675 could be more difficult to handle than the CBR. I say "could" because that comes to my next point.

            Also, the inline 3 of 675 provides a more flat torque curve all up to the top of the chart unlike the other two where it peaks and drop down later.

            You are correct that the inline 3 of the 675 does provide more torque than the 599 cc. engines of either the R6 or the CBR. So, basic physics dictates that the 675 will beat out any 599 cc. bike in a straight line. BUT, you could remap the CBR's torque delivery to give it a more finicky feel as far as the torque is concerned. But in terms of agility, the 675 does beat it out (but IMO, it is the rider, not the bike ).

            Bottomline : As far as the supersport motorcycles are concerned, to paraphrase Carlitos, it just boils down to personal preference. So, if you like the 675 so much, maybe you should consider importing them . It is always good to be the "first" to own a 675 in a country .

              I am also waiting for the Daytona 675 and have written to Ashish Joshi (MD-India operations) Here is the list of responses
              17th January:
              Query:
              Hi,

              I am interested in buying the daytona 675 bike in India.

              In this regard, would like clarity on the following points:
              • Expected date of launch for final delivery;
              • Dealers in Delhi;
              • On road price for the same;
              • Whether financing option would be available or customer has to arrange bank finance directly if required.
              Response:
              Hi Ritesh,

              Thanks for your mail.

              We are currently looking to appoint 3-4 dealers across major metro cities in India. The bikes will be available after that and more details on finance and after sales service can be shared then.

              The guideline ex-showroom price for the Daytona 675 is INR 7.0 L

              More details on our product range in India are as attached.

              Best regards,

              Ashish

              On further stressing about the launch date and giving the hint that might go for kawasaki if the launch date is too late got the following response
              Hi Ritesh,
              The earliest we are looking at is July/ August 2012.
              Best regards,
              Ashish

              9th March
              Query:
              Hi,

              Any update on the launch date?

              Response
              Hi Ritesh,

              Thanks for your mail.

              There is no change in position and we are still on course for July/ August 2012.

              Wishing you the very best,
              Ashish

              With Regard to Honda 600CBR talked to the dealer (Ashish Mittal) in Naraina and he said that as of now no plans to launch the 600cc variant (due to the homolgation issue) however he also stressed that since there are a lot of queries on the 600cc variant, there might be a rethink on the same but no confirmed news for the same.

                If you go through the press release of Japanese bikes, the officials always mention the input requirements from local dealers. So if the dealers are getting inquiries about the 600s they will surely inform the higher officials. And that will surely help them to further the cause.

                So the thing to do is constant enquiry at the [Triumph], Honda and Yamaha dealers.
