okay guys! so here are the updates from Day 1 and 2 in Philippines
The last 2 days have been really hectic for us, very little sleep and too much running around! Me and Sunny landed in Manila at around 5:30 in the morning and were received at the airport by our friends Lester and his wife Sharifa Dizon. They run the Motorcycle magazine here in Philippines and are wonderful human beings. Coming back to sleep, whatever sleep we got was either during the flight or in the car while we were driving to our day 1 destination.
We were driven from the airport by Lester to a place which is nothing less than a heaven for any biker in the world. Passing through a beautiful mountain road, we were taken to a private resort cum motorcycle museum cum exotic and rare bird breeding center. This place is called Casa Corazon. The owner of this place has a collection of more than 300 exotic and rare motorcycles and cars, including the bikes with machine guns mounted on them that were used during the World War II by German soldiers. There are BMWs from 1920 and several small bikes including Honda Monkey and Gorilla.
Also he has this hobby of breeding exotic birds, some of which could cost a few lakhs of rupees.
Coming back from this place to Manila, we had the real taste of traffic in Philippines. The traffic in the city was horribly slow, and we were moving at a turtle's pace towards the city. It took us approximatley 4 hours to cover the distance which we had covered in little less than 2 hours earlier while coming here. From there, we headed straight to a mall to buy the local SIM cards for our phones to call our families back home and to get internet to work. Getting the SIM cards was pretty easy. We didn't have to show any documents whatsoever. Just pay a few bucks and get a prepaid card for your phone.
Our final destination for the day was the our hotel, which was around 2 hours from Manila in the Quezon City. We wanted to sleep as soon as we reached the hotel, but there was one more task still left. We had to hunt for the food, and as i am a vegetarian it was one hell of a task to find good vegetarian food here as the 99% of the food filipinos eat has pork, beef, or chicken or seafood. More on the food later. I'll let the pictures do the talking for now:

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Update from Day 2
Day 2: The bike delivery and the ride flag off
We finally managed to catch some sleep last night but not before some food hunting till late last night. But this day was also going to be a long long day. Sharifa showed up at the hotel to pick us up and take us to their office, the office of Motorcycle Magazine that was just 10-15 minutes away.
There we were welcomed warmly by the small but energetic team that works for the magazine. After a quick intro session, we were taken straight to the Kawasaki showroom, called the Leisure Bikes, in Quizon City from where we were to pick up the bikes for our ride. But there was a big disappointment waiting for us. We were also supposed to get the Kawasaki Z1000, which is Sunny's favorite bike and he was really looking forward to riding it. However, the only bike they had was sold just a day before we landed. Disappointed we were, but not so much as we were still getting 4 brand new, smoking hot Ninjas, including the 2013 and 250 Ninja 250R, Ninja 1000, and the ZX10R. Giving us the company on this ride will be Mel Aquino and Karlo, the two wonderful bikers and staff members from Motorcycle Magazine. Both of these guys are experienced campaigners and very well known faces in the biking circle of Philippines.
But before we start our trip, there was one more task pending and that was to do the sticker job on the bikes. This did take a lot of time and it wasn't before 5:30 that we could start our ride. however, we had just over 160 kms to cover to reach the town of Cabanatuan, our final destination for the day.
The roads in Philippines can be extremely chaotic, particularly in the city. However, people have better road etiuettes than back home in India. But the expressway we took, SCTEx expressway, was lovely. There was hardly any traffic there. Though the speed limit on the highways is only 100 Kmph but most of the vehicle were going above that. The toll is pretty steep on the expressway though. We had to pay roughly 400 PHP to use that expressway. Also at the expressway entry, you are given an e-card that has time stamp on it. You have to hand it over at the exit where they again check the time of exit and calculate your average speed based on the entry and exit timings. If you arrived earlier than a fixed time slot, it means that you were overspeeding and you can be in trouble for that. However, people have found a loophole in this system. They overspeed and then take a long break right before the expressway exit to kill some time and avoid penalty. pretty clever, eh?
We managed to reach our hotel in Cabanatuan by around 10 p.m. and crashed for the day after finishing some pending work like photo editing, etc.
tomorrow, day 3, is going to be a long day as we are supposed to cover a little more than 500 kilometers and also visit the Cabanatuan Kawasaki dealer.
here are some pictures from the day!
