Thats good to hear, I thought of installing clip-ons in the beginning but again backed off as I dont want to lose the comfortable riding position i am enjoying now.
Will take a call on that after riding fz with clip-ons

Thanks for the info..Please PM me if in future you are buying anything so that we can share the shipping charge.

Are you sure you mean speed triple and not street triple.

The Street is 675 cc and 79 BHP,
The speed is 1050 cc and 133 BHP. (And not de-tuned because its a CBU.)

Probably because his ride does around a 180 horses.

But he also says "amazing machine at that price", and the Speed is pretty close to the FZ1 in price.

And the FZ1 in its stock form makes only 150 BHP, so not much of a difference TBH.

I definitely mean the speed not the street!
AFAIK Speed triple is de-tuned(not as much as street though) and makes around 127BHP and since my fz1 has couple of mods on it, I could feel the lack of power

Speed is less expensive than fz, Has got enough power and got ABS too, hence my comment on it being an amazing machine at that price

The speed is Ex Showroom Delhi Rs. 11,05,990.00 and has 127 PS or in BHP terms 125 BHP.

I have no idea how much your FZ1 cost you and how much you are putting out, but I'm curious.

I have no idea about the exact price of fz1 now, But when my friend wanted to pick either litre class naked(fz1/speed/cb1000..etc), we found that fz1 & Cb1000 both are expensive than the Speed triple and felt that speed is more VFM and hence picked it.To sweeten the deal he was offered some discount on the speed as well.

Regarding how much does my Fz1 put, I never got it dyno'ed so even I donnie how much exactly does it put out

Lets assume that your FZ1 puts out 160 BHP (150 stock + 10 gained by mods).

Let us assume that your bike costs 10 ex-showroom (It was 8.7 in 2010 when it was launched. (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/160...-launched.html)

So that leads me to the conclusion that the FZ1 is a better buy than the Triple.

Re: Story Of my FizZy Monster : YAMAHA FZ1 Ownership experience

Hi Harsha, I put the same query on FZ1 thread and putting it here.

I am in the market for a used FZ1, and have shortlisted a few bikes. However, I have been reading a lot about FZ1 online, and there are some reviews that point to snatchy fuelling at lower rpms.

Hence, I would like to know from the owners if they have noticed any such fuelling issues. Its the part I have copied from an online forum.

Rolling the throttle on from a closed position is rewarded with a sudden jerk as the power chimes in. Oddly it wasn't as pronounced as on the half-faired bike (according to Yamaha dealers some bikes are worse than others), but that doesn't stop it being very annoying. On a short test ride, or low speed commute, the glitch isn't that pronounced, which is perhaps why few people complain about it during test rides, but use the bike every day and it's a real *****. Given a twisty road where you'll be closing the throttle, turning into corners then powering out, the glitch makes smooth riding impossible. You just can't make the throttle respond smoothly at small openings, which is such a shame as it ruins the enjoyment of the bike. It's almost a really good machine but this spoils it.

It would be great if the owners can give their opinion on this matter. I would also like to know

1.about service center in Mumbai where I can get my regular service done.
                        2. Service schedule and cost of each service including oil and oil filter change.

                        Thanks,
                        Chinmaya
