Re: Mean Green, Kawasaki Z800 2015
I can go down to 30 and it still wont knock in 6th gear. If I wasnt running in, I could stay in 6th pretty much all day long.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostWhat a beast you got there bro..Congrats on your acquire. Re: Mean Green, Kawasaki Z800 2015
Congrats once again buddy! Good to see you back in the Green Clan. You got lucky with Green color although the Jet Black Zed also looks brilliant. Almost a Batmobile thing
Regarding your brake feel, perhaps changing the brake lines to steel braided lines may help in getting some more bite from those brakes.
Have fun and wish you thousands of safe miles!!!

One more thing buddy, Is the Green-Black combo available in India now? In Chennai, when I enquired, they told me that only Black is available. I didn't say about this one though. Just asked them.Originally posted by Hyperion View PostThanks man. It does about 80 kph in 6th gear.R15S - Current

Yes, its available as far as I know. Maybe the dealer was talking about immediate availability. You can ask him to notify you when the green becomes available.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostOne more thing buddy, Is the Green-Black combo available in India now? Re: Mean Green, Kawasaki Z800 2015
Odo : 1212 km
First servicing completed at 1044. Total cost was a 7.4K. This , I feel, is the real pinch of owning a SBK in India (or elsewhere I guess). The service cost is exorbitant. The only thing done was oil and filter change , chain cleaning and wash.
The chain cleaning was charged a shocking 500 bucks. I could do all of this on my own, but just to keep the warranty I will have to accept this.
After the oil change, the bike feels supersmooth and my last ride on the highway was just fantastic. The brake feel has improved significantly.

Whattttttttttttt???? 2700 for servicing. And no Free 1st service ?? What are the so called Consumable Charges...Does it mean..we spend 6k+ for each serviceOriginally posted by Hyperion View PostOdo : 1212 km

Re: Mean Green, Kawasaki Z800 2015
@Hyperion,
I got first service done for my z800 on saturday. Total amount was ~7100. I felt labour charges were on a higher side considering that they just change oil, filter and wash bike (not polish as i paid 225 for polishing).
Chain cleaning, polishing, coolant, consumables are not included in Service charges (2500 in bangalore before tax).
They should not have charged you 500 for cleaning chain. I don't think that warranty will be void if chain cleaning is not done from them since manufacturer recommends cleaning chain at every 500KM but every time we don't get it cleaned by service centre folks.
Bike is super smooth post oil change. Ride safe.
When are you advised for next service? 6K KM or 12K KM? next year.
No free service for any of the imported bikes. Minimum service charge i heard is 2K for Triumph ST. Consumable include chain cleaner, lube, diesel/kerosene for cleaning and few more stuff.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostWhattttttttttttt???? 2700 for servicing. And no Free 1st service ?? I have been informed that during next service they will clean air filter and there will be a separate labour charge for it. Third service will cost upwards of 18K.
They charge 2.5K+ just for changing oil, oil filter change, checkup & washing which we can do ourself. I was present during service of my Z800 and at no point in time i felt that it requires a special skill for performing a task. I think cleaning air filter is a difficult task.
Major portion of service cost is towards changing oil and oil filter. Also factor that you will have to service bike once in a year and not twice like Ninja 300/650 IMO.Last edited by djay99; 10-13-2014, 09:33 PM.

Re: Mean Green, Kawasaki Z800 2015
I was told 6K without any binding of time. They told me the chain lube costs so high because they use YamaLube. I am going to ask them NOT to do it the next service. This is just plain rip-off. My old Kawasaki service center used to do it for free.Originally posted by djay99 View Post@Hyperion,

Why do you say cleaning air filter is a difficult task?

Better clean the chain yourself. I did clean chain once and enjoyed it.Originally posted by Hyperion View PostI was told 6K without any binding of time. Air filter is located below fuel tank and tank must be lifted up to reach air filter and then clean it.
This is in Bangalore. Service head said that they will replace air filter and few more stuff and hence steep bill. I am ok with even 10K but 18K is too much.Originally posted by nitrosatya View Postdjay99- wtf? Third service 18k? Even the costliest servicing (that I know of ) for Honda Fireblade goes to 15k! Which city is this in?

Re: Mean Green, Kawasaki Z800 2015
Completed 1600 kms on the bike. Went to Lavasa a couple of times. The bike is great fun in the corners. But I am still getting used to the bike so was very very easy on the turns. Some caps from the GoPro footage. Will upload a video after I get some time.

Hyperion Which Oil are you using? Z800 drinks 4L oils in every service and the labour charges are freaking high.
N650 service cost including oil change, filter change is close to 4.5K out of which 2.3K is for 2L Motul 300V. Expensive Oil

Re: Mean Green, Kawasaki Z800 2015
Yes the labour charges are insanely costly. I am thinking of speaking with the Kawasaki management about this if I can find the right channel.
The oil used was Motul 7100 10W40. Costs about Rs.800 per can.

Re: Mean Green, Kawasaki Z800 2015
I had posted fuel requirement and price difference betw pune and Bangalore for Z800 on India kawasaki website> contact us but never got a response. Looks like they don't read customers emails.Originally posted by Hyperion View PostYes the labour charges are insanely costly. I am writing an email to kawasaki official about this and aftersales, service exp which is on lower side when compared to competition.
Will write about different labour charges across city (chain cleaning) as well.
Let's see what they say.Last edited by djay99; 10-25-2014, 11:41 AM.
