Oh No, did I told you that after every test ride I had no sleep. No wonder ya,.. But it turned out to be for wrong reasons. Neck pain. It became quite un bearable. I had to go on medication for a good 2 days.

I thought of giving it a final try went to BMW and requested them for a 3 hour test drive. They accepted and started riding in mixed conditions street, autobahns, woods, hills,…I was pleasantly happy. The very same night, I had the same problems.

So, finally a big no to super sports, with a disappointed heart left for office. I saw an advertisement about triumph street triple. Why not a naked,… lets go… went to Showroom and bowled by Speed triple. It caught my attention. Asked for a test drive and had riden for a healthy 70 kilometers under the same conditions, liked it, well planted,.. nice sound.. Immediately made a full payment and opted for few extras.

        Likes:
        1. Upright seating position (in between sport and tourer)
        2. Torque.. more torque pulls like a train. Never disappointed
        3. Does not need to change gears quite often. I can cruise in 3rd or 4th gear in town
        4. Fit and finish. Need to admit by far better than Japs. Sorry Japs
        5. Looks. The mono swing arm is a head turner
        6. Brakes. Comes with Brembo. To be honest do not know much about them but they are best in class as per internet resources
        7. Suspension: Not yet experienced much difference. I would say they are firm. Since I am riding on German roads. Usually the roads are the best in the world. I feel firm is good
        8. Exhaust note – music to ears

        Dis likes:
        1. Expensive spares
        2. No Traction control – already a wheelie
        3. Expensive optionals –Arrow exhaust costs approx. 1500 Euros close to 1.1 lakhs
        4. Lighting department needs improvement
        5. Clutch is too heavy getting used to it
        6. Minor – ignition key looks cheap. Parking lights position is just after lock position. Would prefer lock and off position at the end. There is a great chance of battery drain.
        7. Wiring – exposed wiring at rear brake. Do not know what they are .. (planning to check at first service)
        8. Expensive service charges (steep 75% more than BMW)

Could not sleep well again but for a good reasons… surfing internet for riding gear. Winters in Germany could be harsh… so looking for protection covers, helmets and so on….

The D day has arrived opted to work from home. Requested help from my friends who speaks German and arrived at showroom. I saw the bike in flesh with all the optional installed.

        Optionals installed:-

        Arrow exhausts
        Reart seat cowl
Wind shield  do not know how useful is it? Need to experience the wind blasts
        Comfort seat
        All weather motorcycle cover

        Riding gear:-

        Original triumph leather jacket
        LS2 helmet
Original triumph hand gloves . all weather

        In Queue:-

        Knee protectors
Change of helmet – any thoughts?
        Riding boots – any thoughts?
        Frame sliders
Battery charger -> required for winter
        Let the pictures do talking…….

The only thing I feel that could have improved in the speed is the clutch. Otherwise I guess all else top notch. About wiring on the tail section, I haven't noticed anything on my bike. Would suggest you have that checked.

To answer a few of your questions.

                  - I got the Rizoma engine and clutch guard. But you could also look at R&G as they have solid options.

                  - Rizoma fork sliders (haven't put them on yet)

                  - Have to get ASV levers for the bike, which I will do. Check the C5 series. Top of the line materials and really tweak-able coverage for comfort.

                  - got wheel finishers from Triumph itself.

                  - then got the bar end mirrors from Triumph.

                  - have the arrows too. Just a quick query. Did you get the full system or just the slipons? As a lakh is way more expensive than what I paid for.

                  - a single sided paddock stand in the pipeline for me. Makes life super easy to keep the chain and glorious wheel looking good. Have a look at Pitbull.

Most of the stuff that I got for the bike was either through Triumph or from Bikegear.in, genuine guy and really helpful. Have had no complaints whatsoever. But I guess with you being in Europe, you will have gazillion options to order from. I'd suggest pure triumph UK is a good starting point.

I might be forgetting something as its one in the night and way past my ability to think clearly. Will add anything that I remember.

Have a lot of fun. Enjoy her. Its a motorcycle devoid of all electronics. Which makes her interesting, pure and hits the right spots when riding her. Ride safe.. You'll be fast "unknowingly" in the turns as I was. Cheers!!
--> To be honest, I never checked for other colours. I like the bike colour in Black. A magnet!!!
--> Could not agree more. Hand gloves are doing their part. Wiring at tail section appears to be for brake light? need to check at first service.
--> Thank you very much for sharing the information. I have a question on these crash guards? Isn't it the fork and frame sliders are useful in a tip over case? same with other gaurds? not for a crash?. Next time when I pay visit to the showroom I will definitely post a picture of a engine guard that will protect complete frame and (engine/clutch) guard on one installation with out compromising the looks.
--> Caught my attention already ordered one. Unfortunately, silver colour was not in stock. Will fit during first service.

--> How good is the visibility? are they practical ? I am asking this question since I find the standard mirrors are not great. With the riding gear I can hardly see 50% (visibility). Yesterday, I was joining high speed lane at 130 kmph and could not identify the vehicle already in fast lane.

--> here is the link sorry in German. Can you please enlighten me if it was a full system or slip on? This is the only arrow exhaust available on German website.

                  http://www.triumphmotorcycles.de/zubeh%C3%B6r/performance/2013/arrow-schalld%C3%A4mpfer-kit-a9600386?returnUrl=/accessories/?selectedBikeModel={AC328879-8B66-465C-B922-1B534186C33B}&selectedBikeName=Speed-94

--> Can you please share the picture of paddock stand? since my German skills are limited. I usually talk to them with pictures. Thanks for your understanding.

--> I am buying all original goods from Triumph. However, what I notice here is that the motorrad accessories shops are in the every other street corner. So the choices are a feast. It just we need to know what we need. Quality is mostly guarenteed.

--> Thank you very much for sharing the information

I didn't see Frame sliders on your accessory list, that would be my first accessory on top priority. You can get Triumph originals as they gel well with the bike and doesn't look like an extra fitment done.
                  Hi Shreeni,

Thanks for your wishes. Indeed commuted already 300 Kilometers under 3 days. My Santa fe is parked at the rear end of the garage ... hehhehhe

I am bit confused with the frame sliders. With my little German skills I am unable to identify them on official triumph German site. Will definitely install them during the first service. This month is the hardest. Could not spend more!!!

From the profile pic, I see that your ride is Z800 isn't it?

                  Have a nice day.

Also be sure you get the right pins if you order.

The mirrors are not really great from a functionality POV. I'd advise to have risers for your stock one. That will help a lot with visibility.

I am out for work so can't get into the details. But will be back home soon and check your post again. Sorry about this, typing in a hurry between a smoke and shoot 😄

Cheers and talk to you soon.

                      Yeah ! It's Z800.

One of my friend ride a "Street Triple", that itself is amazing. I can imagine how you will be grinning with "Speed".

Clean Moto is a good product. We don't get it here, but its actually good. Have friends in the US who use this regularly and are happy with it.

                              1. Left the service station with a heft price tag of 378 Euros ~~29,000. That seems to me a lot.

Thats quite expensive for a first service mate. Did they put her up on the dyno? Coz that's a good thing. The bike is connected to the computer which runs the diagnostic tool software from Triumph. Basically they check for ABS function, if any errors and throttle bodies. If they out of sync, those are balanced. This effectively will make your ride smoother, better fuel economy and yes the throttle does not feel snatchy. If there are any faults the ECU saves that data. So next time when you connect the ECU to the computer the service guys can check for the faults.

Have you added any more goodies to her? Let me know man looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers and ride safe.
